I asked the tour guide why Koreans seldom travel abroad. Our guide said that it is difficult for ordinary people to get passports in North Korea. North Korea's passports are divided into diplomatic passports, official passports and ordinary passports. Generally speaking, only North Korean athletes or people's artists who perform abroad can apply for passports, and it is almost impossible for ordinary people to apply for passports. Even if some business travelers apply for passports, their passports will be taken back after returning home.

The tour guide said, I just know that only a few people in North Korea can go abroad. In fact, it is more difficult for Koreans to go abroad, even if they are far from home, because they have to apply for various passes.
