Duties of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is the highest authority in charge of the police in Ukraine, and its main responsibility is to safeguard national security and social order.

Responsible for immigration, border and customs control of domestic and foreign citizens, as well as related security and identity authentication; Responsible for planning relevant national population policies and managing national social welfare, education, housing and employment; Responsible for the implementation of relevant legal cases, the implementation of relevant agreements and international conventions.

In normal times, people used to call the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs three powerful departments. Although they are subordinate to the government, the Ministry of the Interior has the right to report directly to the head of state.
