The differences between overseas Chinese, returned overseas Chinese and dependents of overseas Chinese have different meanings, different nationalities and different countries.

1. Different meanings:

Overseas Chinese: designated Chinese citizens living abroad.

Returned overseas Chinese: refers to overseas Chinese who have returned to the country to settle down, referred to as returned overseas Chinese.
