The plot of a play

A new era of life and death The Babylonian Age is adapted from the novel Babylonian Baby by Maurice G Dante.

The story takes place in the not-too-distant future world. With the rapid development of science and technology, great changes have taken place in human social structure. Cities are more and more advanced because of the development of science and technology, but at the same time, there are more and more unknown dark corners. A large number of high-tech robots are put into use, which not only provides convenience for human beings, but also replaces a large number of workers. Soon the number of robots has been comparable to that of human beings, and the world has become a group where machines and human beings were born.

The protagonist Toulop (Vin Diesel Wen Dissel) is a retired veteran. His retirement life is obviously neither rich nor happy. He has nothing to do all day. As a last resort, he changed his job and became a mercenary with money to handle affairs, specializing in various escort tasks. One day, lured by money, Turop returned to the United States and accepted the latest dangerous task. This task seems nothing special, but accompanied by another female escort, a mysterious woman Aurora (Melanie Shri) is escorted across Eurasia and sent to the United States from a monastery in Kazakhstan in Central Asia. But when Toulop first met this woman at the monastery gate, he knew that this was no ordinary woman. Her beautiful face and sad eyes were full of deep sadness. His hunch was right, the escort trip was unusual, and trouble soon came. Not only did the official police start to find trouble with them, but with a deeper understanding, he found that another cult organization was eyeing her with malice, because this organization believed that the legendary savior Messiah would come to earth and bring great changes to the world. And they believe that this woman is the pregnant body of the Messiah, but it is necessary to create a new race through genetic improvement to promote the arrival of the Messiah! Along the way, Toulop and his sister Rebecca (Yang Ziqiong, Yang Ziqiong), who are also proficient in martial arts, survived several times. After more than 6,000 miles of adventure, they set out from Eastern Europe, crossed refugee camps in "New Russia", crossed the Bering Strait, and walked through the frozen soil of Alaska and Canada. But in the end, he realized that this woman had a terrible virus, powerful enough to destroy all mankind! All this made Toulop begin to doubt the woman's life experience and the powerful power group looming behind her. Although it is natural for mercenaries to take money to do things, and although the reputation of mercenaries is above everything else, Tulop still wants to give up several times in the face of business that threatens his life. But Toulop persisted because there was a subtle feeling between him and this mysterious woman. When the final truth comes, all people will face a great test. ...

Time problem in production

In 2005, 20th Century Fox reached an agreement with canal Studio in France to shoot a futuristic big budget film "Babylonian Times". The director finally decided to be a Frenchman, mathieu kassovitz, who is both a director and an editor. Canal is responsible for the screening and distribution in Europe, and Fox is responsible for the distribution business in other parts of the world. The filming and production are handled by alain goldman of Legendary Pictures, a good friend of Kasowitz, and MNP company owned by Kasowitz. The producer said that the film will start shooting in Canada and Eastern Europe in 2006.

In fact, in that year, the Babylonian era started. The production team also includes Kallwitz's good friend and famous actor Vincent Cassel. But the next year, due to personal reasons, Vincent Cassel stopped asking about it. Kasowitz must ask for help again. Vin Diesel, an American macho man, was selected for Babylonian Times because he failed to appear in the movie League of Assassins adapted from the action game Black Boy Code 47. It may also be because of the box office needs in Asia that the script changed the destination of mercenary escort in the novel from Canadian to China. Kallwitz hired Yang Ziqiong to play a thin but skilled nun in the film, but the characterization was still limited to the image of beating women.

Babylonian sailors went to the Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway and France to find suitable places throughout Europe. However, the shooting is still affected by the warm winter climate, and it is difficult to find a snow scene that can last for six to eight days. The interior shooting in Czech Republic was also affected by the delay of exterior shooting, and the shooting schedule in Prague shed in February was quite tight. The crew of Narnia 2: Prince Caspian is scheduled to start shooting in the mainland in early April, leaving only a few weeks of Babylonian era. What's even more ridiculous is that The Legend of Narnia 2 has already been released, but the release time of Babylonian Times has been postponed again and again.

Producer Goodman said that for any big-budget movie, difficulties are inevitable, such as the irresistible factors of the weather (too little snow that winter), the failure of scene setting, the ankle injury caused by the scene designer, and the replacement of the first assistant director. "You make a small movie, the problem will not be very serious. If it is made into a big movie, it will be much more complicated. After resting for half a month and solving all the problems, we are back on track. " It is said that the whole shooting cost may increase by another million euros, but some analysts believe that the actual investment may be more.

A screened version of the film.

Some media once broke the news that the coming Babylonian era may be two different versions. Fox cut the director's cut version of 160 minutes into a more than 90-minute American version. Now the official statement is that there is only a 90-minute version, but the European version and the American version are somewhat different in the order of several shots. MNP came forward to refute the rumor, saying that there was never a version of 160 minutes. Perhaps it was a joke played by director Kaxiuwitz that was taken seriously by the reporter. At first, the film company really wanted to position the film as an action movie with dark tones, but considering the current box office market, the two sides reached an understanding and finally adjusted it to PG- 13.

Filmmakers will use different versions of flowers or trailers to attract attention from time to time when doing marketing promotion. Since 1 month, there have been long and short trailers in American, French and European versions on the Internet. However, the delayed release schedule also makes these trailers problematic. Some netizens complained that the first few trailers were unprofessional and even applied the theme music of the American movie Requiem for a Dream. Producer Goodman laughed. "If there are no problems and challenges, I will get bored. I also know that "Babylonian Times" is bound to be a new breakthrough in action movies, and the effect of the demo is great! "

[Edit this paragraph] Trivia

In 2003, mathieu kassovitz directed the horror film Ghost starring halle berry in Hollywood. Although despised by film critics, it was largely for his own Babylonian era. He estimated that the budget of this new film is about 70 million yuan.

In 2006, while preparing Babylonian Times, Kasowitz took time to join the idol Steven Allan Spielberg's "Munich" crew and played an important role.

In the end, the film had to use the film deposit to get rid of the problems of budget overrun and long shooting cycle.

The music of this film was co-produced by Hans Zmir and RZA. Hans Zmir is a classical master of film soundtrack, and RZA is a representative figure of pop music.

[Edit this paragraph] Wonderful dialogue

Toorop: Save the Earth. Why? Life is simple. Kill or be killed. Survivor code. My code. It sounds great until one day you find yourself facing a choice. A choice to make a change or leave to save yourself. I learned something that day. Unfortunately, it was the day I died.

Toulop (to himself): Save the earth. For what? Life is simple. Kill or kill. Survivor's code, my code. Everything will not always be as you wish, until you find that there is such a choice before you. A choice that can bring about change, or walk away to protect yourself. That day, I knew. Too bad, I died that day.

Toorop: No pity for the weak!

Tulop: The weak will not get pity!

I can protect myself.

Rebecca: I can protect myself.

Aurora: Are you a killer, Mr. Toorop?

Toorop: Yes. Please get in the car now.

Aurora: Are you a killer, Mr. Tulop?

Toulop: Yes. Please get in the car now.
