Distribution of Hakka Language in Gannan

On the whole, Gannan Hakka dialect can be divided into two levels: central film and ring film. The middle part includes Ganxian, Nankang, Dayu, Du Yu, southern Xingguo, northern Xinfeng, Shangyou and southeastern Chongyi counties. Its dialect is unified internally. Although these areas once belonged to Nan 'an Prefecture and Ganzhou Prefecture in history, it is difficult to find out the prominent features that distinguish the dialects of the two prefectures. Inside the annular sheet, it can be further divided into Ning's small pieces, scattered small pieces and cross small pieces. Ning's small piece includes Ningdu and Shicheng counties; Sporadic patches include Dingnan, Longnan, Xunwu, southeast of Huichang, east of Ruijin, Shangyou and northwest of Chongyi County. Cross patches include the border area between central patches and circular patches, namely Xinfengnan, Anyuan, northwest Huichang, Ruijinxi and north-central Xingguo. They have some characteristics of round dialect and central dialect.

The central film is mainly composed of residents who moved from central Jiangxi in Yuan and Ming Dynasties and some northern residents who moved in Tang and Song Dynasties, and has many similarities with the dialect in central Jiangxi in language characteristics. Although the middle film is also mixed with immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, their language has also been affected, but on the whole, they still retain the original characteristics of their own national language and assimilate the language of immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong. They call themselves "local dialect" and call each other "Xingning dialect", "Heyuan dialect" and "Fujian dialect" and so on. The circular Ning's small pieces are basically the residents who moved in from Jin to Tang and Song Dynasties, and retain the basic features of the Tang and Song languages. Cross plot is a place where residents moved in several periods, but it was greatly influenced by immigrants in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. Scattered films are places where immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong are concentrated in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. When they moved here, they became their own villages, thus basically retaining the original customs and the basic characteristics of Hakka dialect in Fujian and Guangdong.

In some marginal areas, influenced by neighboring dialects, they often have some characteristics of neighboring dialects. For example, Xiaotian and Dongshao townships in Ningdu border Nanfeng, Yihuang and Le 'an counties in the Gan dialect area, so their dialects are rich in Gan dialect. Zhoutian Township in Huichang is close to the west of Fujian, and its dialect is similar to Wuping Hakka dialect. Jiuqu, Tianhua in Dingnan and Yangcun in Longnan are adjacent to peace county in eastern Guangdong, and the dialect is similar to Heping. Youxian area in the southwest of Dayu is connected with Nanxiong, and its dialect is similar to Nanxiong. Fengzhou area in Chongyi is adjacent to Rucheng, Hunan, and its dialect is similar to Rucheng.
