What do Singaporeans think of China people?

This varies from person to person. Most Singaporeans are descended from China. Singapore's migration flows fall into three categories:

1) Ming Dynasty (Zheng He's voyage to the West) to the early Qing Dynasty

The Qing Dynasty imposed a maritime ban, so few China people could go to Nanyang. )

2) From the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China (before the founding of New China)

From the founding of New China to the announcement of reform and opening up in Deng Xiaoping, in the dark age of China people, many China people wanted to go to Nanyang, but they couldn't get out. )

3) Since the reform and opening up 1979.

Among the current population of Singapore, Chinese account for 77% of the total population, and most of them are descendants of the second wave of immigrants. Most of these people are Minnan people (including Chaoshan people, Leizhou people and Hainan people), but there are also a few Guangfu people and Hakkas. Their culture is very similar to Fujian and Guangdong in Chinese mainland, but very different from northern China. Generally, Singaporeans will identify with the new immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong, because the culture and language are close.

As a Singaporean, my feeling is that most Singaporeans are still very friendly to China people. Singaporeans will certainly exclude China people with low quality, because after all, it is an urban area with good education and it is difficult to accommodate people with low quality.
