The Tingzikou project is of great significance

There is no large backbone power supply in Northeast Sichuan. After the Tingzikou Power Station is put into operation, its electric energy will form a strong support for the electricity demand of the industrial economy and residents' lives in Northeast Sichuan.

After the completion of the Tingzikou Conservancy Hub, it will cooperate with the cascade power stations in the lower reaches of the Jialing River to achieve linked power generation, which is equivalent to adding an additional 180,000 kilowatts of hydropower installed capacity to the entire basin without building new power stations.

The formation of the Tingzikou Irrigation District will add 2.9214 million acres of irrigated farmland from Cangxi, Nanchong, Guang'an, and Chongqing along the Jialing River, providing safe drinking water for urban industry and domestic water in the counties and counties in the irrigation district, and safe drinking water for nearly 2 million people in rural areas. Provide water source guarantee and fundamentally solve the problems of farmland irrigation and drinking water for humans and animals in the Jiaqu Irrigation Area.

After the project is completed, the navigation capacity of the river within 150 to 200 kilometers upstream can be increased to 500 tons, and the designed annual dam crossing capacity is 3.321 million tons. After the Jialing River is channelized, the channel mileage will be shortened by 56.2 kilometers. The 682.2 kilometers of channels in Sichuan will meet the third- and fourth-level navigation standards. Its transportation capacity will increase four times, and it can reach Shanghai directly from Guangyuan.

As an important cascade engineering project to channelize the Jialing River waterway, the Tingzikou Conservancy Project will intercept part of the Jialing River sediment and delay and reduce sedimentation in the downstream cascade reservoirs, Chongqing Port Area and Three Gorges Reservoir.

After completion, the water storage in the reservoir area will be "connected" to Nanchong Shengzhong Reservoir through canal irrigation, which is expected to "recreate a Dujiangyan Irrigation Area" in northeastern Sichuan.

Raise the flood control standard for farmland along the downstream coast from a return event of 2 to 5 years to a return event of 10 years, and raise the flood control standard of Nanchong City, Langzhong City and county-level towns along the middle reaches of the Jialing River from a return event of 20 years to 50 years Once in a year.
