Where does the morning bell of the Eight Scenes Purple Cover in Dangyang point?
Located on the mountainside of Beizigai, Banyue Town, dangyang city. This temple is named after this mountain.
According to the Records of Dangyang County in the fifth year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty, it is said that the southern rule lasted for fifty miles, and the top was hung like an umbrella on all sides, and the forest and stone were all beautiful, so it was named Zigai. Originally a Taoist temple, it began in the Western Jin Dynasty and was destroyed by fire in the early Sui Dynasty. In the 10th year of Tang Zhenyuan (794), it was converted into a Buddhist temple. There are buildings such as Daxiong Hall, an alchemist's well, ancestral hall, Jade Emperor Pavilion, and Tibetan Scripture Building.
"Purple Covered Morning Bell" was once one of the eight scenic spots in Dangyang. Now there are only three halls and some stone foundations, and an ancient well and several old trees.
