How to apply for a transit visa in the United States

There are four steps to applying for a US transit visa:

Step 2: Pay the visa application fee.

Step 3: Make an appointment for an interview.

To make an appointment for an interview, you need to provide the following three pieces of information:

(1) passport number

(2) The number on the payment receipt for visa application.

(3) Ten (10) digit barcode number on the confirmation page of DS-160.

Step 4: Please interview at the American Embassy or Consulate General at the appointed time.

Handling materials:

Please take with you the printed reservation form, the printed DS- 160 confirmation page, the recent photo and all new and old passports. If the above materials are missing, the US Visa Application Center will not accept them.

The materials required for a US transit visa are as follows:

(2) Passport: The validity period must be more than six months (except for countries with special agreements to enjoy visa exemption). If the passport contains more than one person, each visa applicant needs to submit a separate application.

(3) Photos: 2-inch by 2-inch (5. 1 cm x5. 1 cm) photos taken in the last six months.

After they declare their household registration with their passports, the household registration authority will take back their passports and hand them over to the county and municipal public security bureaus for investigation. China citizens who temporarily go abroad for private affairs cannot go abroad after returning to China or receiving their passports, they should return their passports to the public security organs that originally issued them.
