Do Xiangfan and Shiyan both speak Henan dialect?

I am a native of Shiyan and often go to Xiangfan on business. Xiangfan is located in Jianghan Plain, with the Han River in front and the endless Central Plains behind. After crossing the Yellow River, there is basically no danger in defending from north to south. The result of the cold weapon era can be imagined, which also led to the accent problem. The accents of Hebei, Henan and Xiangfan are similar, very close to Henan dialect and very strong.

Shiyan dialect is different.

Shiyan is divided into Fangxian School, Zhushan Zhuxi Yunxi School, Yunxian School, Danjiang School and Shiyan School.

Fangxian County was called Fangling in the Tang Dynasty, Tang Zhongzong Li Xian was demoted here when he was a prince, Zhushan Zhuxi was called Shang Yong and became the capital as early as the Zhou Dynasty. These three places are famous for their simple ancient customs and talented people.

Yunxi used to be a part of Yunxian County, and it was previously under the jurisdiction of Yunyangfu. Because Yunxi is located at the junction of two provinces (Shaanxi and Hubei), it was later stripped off as an independent county for the convenience of management.

Danjiang was once under the jurisdiction of Xun County, and Wudang Mountain in its jurisdiction is famous at home and abroad. Laoxun County has been submerged by Danjiang Dam, a water conservancy project built after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and its ancient style has not diminished.

Yunxian County is also a thousand-year-old town, and there is Yunyang House in Yunxian County in history. Yunxian dialect is lighter than Henan dialect, and Henan dialect is not pleasant to listen to, so Yunxian dialect has a proper sense of relaxation. Due to years of war in the past, Yunxian County is located in the northwest corner of Hubei Province, slightly in the center, but its geographical location is not as dangerous as Zhushan and Zhuxi, and its terrain is relatively flat. Whenever there is a war, a large number of people flee here and are called refugees by the ruling class. Many of these people come from the Central Plains, so Yunxian dialect is similar to Henan dialect, especially Meipu in Yunxian County, which is adjacent to Xixia in Henan Province and has the same accent.

Shiyan is the seat of Dongfeng Company and an immigrant city. The urban areas are all outsiders, mainly from Northeast China and Wuhan, and there are also a few mainlanders. So Mandarin is spoken in the city. Most people think that Shiyan people are from the northeast, but there are also some local people in Shiyan who speak Yunxian dialect.

Generally speaking, it can be divided into Yunxian dialect, Danjiang dialect (close to Yunxian dialect), Fangxian dialect and Zhushan dialect, each with its own differences. It can be regarded as a transition zone. Who let Shiyan be located between the Qin-Ba-Yu range, the plateau and the plain?

If you have time, read more history books, which is estimated to increase your understanding. Time is limited, let's talk about this first. I feel like I've done it more thoroughly. Ha ha. Give some points!

It is worth emphasizing that Suizhou is close to Xiangfan, and Suizhou dialect is different from Xiangfan dialect and Henan dialect. Wuhan, Xiaogan and Xianning have different accents. We should respond to the old saying "different customs in ten miles, different sounds in a hundred miles" and feel that our motherland is vast, populous and has a long history! Love the motherland!
