Personal life

After Cai Shaofen’s parents divorced during her childhood, Cai Shaofen and her eldest brother lived with their mother. Cai's mother was addicted to gambling and owed huge gambling debts. Cai Shaofen worked hard to pay off her mother's debts, exhausting her savings and property and spending 80 million to pay off Cai's mother's debts. In 2000, Cai Shaofen severed ties with her mother because she was unable to pay off her gambling debts. In 2003, Cai's mother successfully quit gambling and became a Christian, and mother and daughter reconciled.

In 1999, Cai Shaofen and Wu Qilong fell in love.

In 2008, Cai Shaofen and actor Zhang Jin held their wedding in the auditorium of Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary.
