Why do Americans learn Spanish?

Because nearly half of the territory of the United States was taken from Mexico, a former Spanish colony, through the Spanish-American War. For example, the west coast of the United States, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Texas in the midwest are all Mexican territories. There are a large number of Hispanics in these places, and they all speak Spanish. In addition, Florida and the southern United States are bordered by Mexico or the Caribbean, so there are a large number of Latinos. So Americans should learn Spanish, which is the first foreign language in America.
