Why can Changbai Mountain be blocked by foreigners when the Qing army enters the customs?
As we all know, Baishan Heishui Changbai Mountain area is the hometown and birthplace of Manchu in history and is regarded as the "land of Longxing" of the Qing Empire. After the Qing dynasty made Beijing its capital, a large number of soldiers and civilians outside the customs "entered the customs from the dragon", which set off a large-scale immigration tide. According to incomplete statistics, in the first year of Shunzhi, about 900,000 people entered the customs, resulting in a situation of "the city was ruined, the tile was broken, the wall was broken, and the land was fertile, and there was no soil to rely on" in Northeast China.
In order to consolidate the Manchu base area, improve the original situation of vast territory and sparse population and towering trees in Northeast China, revive the local economy and increase the income of the imperial court, in order to cope with the continuous war in Shanhaiguan. In the eighth year of Shunzhi, the Qing court promulgated the case of recruiting people to reclaim land in Liaodong, allowing farmers to enter the customs to reclaim land and tap resources. As a result, a large number of people came to the Commissioner. But in the seventh year of Kangxi, the Qing court issued an order: "Liaodong recruits people forever." This is equivalent to a "ban". This has also opened the history of "banning" the Northeast for more than 200 years, including Changbai Mountain.
In the view of Manchu rulers, Changbai Mountain area is "the place where ancestors rise and fall, and it is the key to the prosperity of Manchu". Su Shen, Luo Luo, Buji, Bohai and other Manchu ancestors regarded Changbai Mountain as the land of Lingshan and had a special and mysterious concept of respect for Changbai Mountain. Manchu people believe that Changbai Mountain is divided into two mountains after it develops from west to north to Longgang Mountain. After the northern vein arrived in Shengjing, it became Tianzhu Mountain where Fuling was located and Long Ye Mountain where Zhaoling was located. From the west vein to Yingjingmen, it becomes Kaiyun Mountain, and Yongling is here. Therefore, Changbai Mountain is connected with the "Long Mai" in the Qing Dynasty. Protecting Changbai Mountain means protecting the "Long Mai" of Manchu Dynasty.
During the reign of Emperor Kangxi, "Worship Changbai Mountain was even worse, and the God of Changbai Mountain was named, and the Wang Ji Temple was built in Xiaobaishan, Wula. Spring is the second sacrifice, and the five mountains are worshipped together. " 1682, when Emperor Kangxi traveled to Jilin in the east, he led the people to bow down to Changbai Mountain, pay three visits and knock nine times, and held a ceremony to watch sacrifices in memory of Manchu ancestors. When Qianlong was in office, he also paid tribute to Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province, and left the article "Visiting Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province", thus pushing the respect for Changbai Mountain to the peak.
In this context, the Qing court set aside a number of paddocks in the restricted area of Changbai Mountain for the soldiers of the Eight Banners to hunt and practice martial arts, improve their combat effectiveness and resist foreign aggression. 1687, during Kangxi's second east tour, he personally went hunting in Changbai Mountain paddock to encourage the Eight Banners to attach importance to hunting and practice martial arts and strengthen preparation.
In the process of banning Changbai Mountain for more than 200 years, the Qing court protected the Manchu "Longxing Land" and the ecological environment of Changbai Mountain. However, the closure of Changbai Mountain objectively hindered the economic development of the whole Northeast, weakened the military defense of the Northeast, and caused Russian and Japanese aggression against China in the late Qing Dynasty. As a result, the whole country suffered heavy losses.
