Institutional responsibilities of the Population, Resources and Environment Committee of the National Committee of China People's Political Consultative Conference

According to the requirements of the Constitution of China People's Political Consultative Conference and the related tasks put forward by the plenary session and the Standing Committee meeting of the National Committee, the Municipal Committee of Population, Resources and Environment of China People's Political Consultative Conference contacted relevant departments and social organizations and organized members to investigate and study major strategic, comprehensive, overall and forward-looking issues in the fields of population, resources and environment. Environment and national sustainable development, providing decision-making reference opinions and suggestions to the CPC Central Committee and the State Council through investigation reports, proposals and CPPCC information.

After the establishment of the Committee on Population, Resources and Environment of the Ninth CPPCC, special investigations were conducted on the construction of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, the prevention and control of air pollution in Beijing, the poverty alleviation project of "having fewer children and getting rich quickly" and the energy development strategy. According to the requirements put forward by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Municipal Committee of Population, Resources and Environment of the 10th CPPCC adheres to the principle of putting people first, establishing Scientific Outlook on Development and building a harmonious socialist society. From the perspective of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society, in view of the relocation of Shougang and the construction of circular economy eco-industrial park in Caofeidian, Regional economic development around the Bohai Sea and the construction of Tianjin Binhai New Area, rural family planning incentives and assistance, resource conservation, natural grassland protection in Tibet, coalfield fire fighting in Xinjiang, establishment and improvement of marine disaster early warning mechanism, water quality assurance of the East Route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project, and other large-scale environmental protection public welfare activities were organized, effectively performing their functions and actively offering suggestions. Opinions and suggestions have been taken seriously by relevant departments.

The Committee has an office, which is responsible for the specific organization, implementation, service and liaison of the Committee's activities. There are population (comprehensive) department, resource department and environment department.
