Looking at the dredging of Suya Lake Reservoir Dam
I was bored, so I asked some friends to go for a walk on the Suya Lake Reservoir Dam.
Since I have visited Suya Lake Reservoir many times in the past, I am quite familiar with the history and current situation here. The Suya Lake Reservoir was built in 1958. The dam is 35 kilometers long and has a storage capacity of 1.6 billion cubic meters. It is the largest plain artificial reservoir in Asia. Due to long-term siltation, the reservoir capacity has shrunk severely, which has affected the flood control safety of the reservoir. The reservoir is currently being desilted.
The dredging of Suya Lake Reservoir is a huge water conservancy project. It is understood that the total investment in this dredging is 3.2 billion yuan. It is the first of its kind in the country in terms of reservoir dredging and management.
In order to ensure construction safety, vehicles are not allowed to pass on some dam tops. Because we were accompanied by an acquaintance, we successfully entered the road on the top of the dam, where we witnessed the desilting of the reservoir with our own eyes. .
The dredging site is highly mechanized. You can hardly see a few people, and you can’t hear the roar of the dredging ship’s machinery. However, you can see many pipe outlets spouting out from the outside of the dam. The mud is transported from a dredging ship a few kilometers away to the bottom of the reservoir outside the dam. It is estimated that the small islands that our country fills in the South China Sea are also completed in this way.
The dam is on the east bank of the reservoir. Originally, the top of the dam was only a few meters wide. The dredging boat transported the silt in the lake to the outside of the dam through pipelines, and accumulated it into a pile with the same height as the dam and a width of approximately There is a platform of two to three hundred meters, which is integrated with the dam and becomes a part of the dam. There is still some water in this platform, which has become a happy home for egrets, gray cranes, wild ducks and other birds.
On the west bank of the reservoir, there are also several small islands tens of meters high piled up with lake bottom soil, which are vaguely visible. In the past, because the water surface of Suya Lake Reservoir was too large, you could not see the edge and the skyline at a glance. Although the newly built islands were not tall enough, they attracted people's attention and became mysterious sights. point.
The dredging pipe buoys floating on the lake are more like musical symbols, appearing alive and decorating the silent lake surface, full of movement.
On the east side of the dam, there are several large pits that are several hundred meters long, 200 to 300 meters wide, and more than ten meters deep that are surrounded by mud. People are still herding sheep in them. I believe they will be there again. Over a long period of time, these large pits will be filled with silt cleared from the reservoir.
The sun is going to set in a blink of an eye, and the afterglow of the setting sun dyes the corners of the sky red. The lake and sky blend into each other, shining and extremely beautiful. The sunrise is really as brilliant as the sunrise, and the sunset is as brilliant as the sunset.
As long as there is beauty in your heart, there will be scenery everywhere. While visiting the Suya Lake Reservoir Dam, I took a few photos as a souvenir.
