What kind of life is this?
Three years ago, at a reading sharing meeting, I came across a book "What is this life" by an old Japanese gentleman. The main content of the book tells his memoirs of being adopted by China family as a Japanese orphan in World War II. This is my first close contact with a historical narrator. His name is Yasuhiro Nakajima.
The word "Japanese orphan" is unfamiliar to many people today, but it is not. ...
In wartime, there are often sad stories about the separation of his wife and children, and the origin of Mr. Nakajima Yasuhiro's "orphan" status is quite special. I still remember when I was reading what life is this, I specifically looked up the definition of the word "Japanese orphans", which means Japanese who were abandoned in China or not repatriated to Japan after the defeat of Japan 1945; Back in the 1930s, Japanese militarism prevailed, especially after the September 18th Incident, the whole northeast of China gradually became a real Japanese colony. During this period, the Japanese government formulated the policy of "One Million Agricultural Immigrants to Manchuria Plan", which was called "Pioneering Group". At that time, there were armed immigrants and agricultural immigrants among the members of the pioneering group, most of whom were poor peasants in Japan. Later, they became cannon fodder in the war, and most of the casualties were old, weak, women and children. After the defeat, they became "abandoned children" of militarism and were left behind in China, resulting in many "Japanese orphans". Therefore, from another perspective, it is also a tragedy in the war for the immigrants of these pioneers.
The hero's family, Yukio Nakajima, also came to China with a pioneering group, and his father didn't come back in 1945. After Japan was defeated and surrendered, the abandoned pioneers lived a hard life of hunger, cold and displacement, and they didn't know what the fate was waiting for them next. In this case, Mr Nakajima's biological mother was entrusted to a seller in China for lack of material resources. From then on, his life story of being adopted in China 13 years began. China's adoptive parents also took care of him in every way. Under such a historical background, raising an orphan of an aggressor country really reflects the inner love of the Chinese nation. The book tells that when his adoptive mother first took him in, she was bruised and swollen because of hunger and malnutrition. Her foster mother gently rubs his belly every day and feeds him carefully until he is healthy. Although this memory has passed 70 years, it is as clear as yesterday in Mr. Nakajima's mind, especially in the book, her adoptive mother is called "my mother". "My mother dragged me and took care of me at an early age. .....
Mr Nakajima wrote this book in order to reorganize the understanding of that period of history between Chinese and Japanese people, and also to reshape the simple and industrious ordinary life in rural China at that time. The words are very delicate and the feelings revealed are very real. Without too much embellishment, it is directly and clearly expressed, which also reflects how deeply Mr. Wang feels about China's feelings.
The first time I came into contact with the author himself, I was at a book club, listening to him sob to recall this narrative. At that time, it was difficult to understand what unforgettable memories an old man had made him feel so sad until his eyes were red. That kind of photo is rare for me. ....
What kind of life is this? ...
It was not until I read it that I found the story behind it so embarrassing. I recommend you to read this book. Besides reading this "orphan" history, you can also look at human trials in the shadow of war from more angles. This is not only a private memoir, but also a historical memoir of China and Japan after the war.
For various reasons in the past, people in China and Japan lacked a lot of knowledge about history. Even a little history textbook can't give us a comprehensive understanding of history, which leads to the situation that we don't know each other today. Just the meaning of this book fills this "understanding". What I want to say is that many years have passed since the wars, and we remember the great pain caused by those wars in order to cherish the present peace. Mr. Yasuhiro Nakajima is a witness and unfortunate in this history. He has always devoted himself to the development of Sino-Japanese friendship with this "Japanese sentiment". He said that the friendship and understanding between the two peoples should develop as far as possible, which will transcend all political obstacles. Perhaps this book is a testimony to the friendship between the two countries.
20th century
This is a century in which great sorrow is buried.
People coming out of the war.
The heart will be full of bullet holes.
Throughout the changing times
Life and death are like river soup.
Become so natural and inevitable.
The memory of Yohachi Nakajima has always been in my heart, as well as in the hearts of our generation.
