Reflections on the 20 12 Olympic Games

We can tolerate the obscene emblem of the London Olympic Games; It is said that we can tolerate the Olympic volunteer work clothes designed according to the royal style; We can endure the hardships of free laborers working 10 hour, 1 1 hour, but at the London Olympic Games, when the organizers and some western media belittled and attacked China athletes and avoided loopholes and wrong choices in their work, I couldn't help it. I felt very uncomfortable not telling them something.

Let's talk about those things in training first. I was elected to the NOC/NPC service team and was one of the first people to get the OFFER. Our team is also the first to train all Olympic volunteers-from February 20 12, there are two trainings every month, each lasting five hours, and the training lasts until the middle of June 20 12, and finally there are two full-day driving trainings and one-day venue training. All transportation expenses during the period, including the London Underground, will not be reimbursed by the Organizing Committee. Not only that, five hours of training, no lunch or dinner, only the last two times, with the participation of the media, provided simple sandwiches, apples, chocolates and so on. Because the NOC service team is mainly responsible for the reception and accompanying work of the leaders of the national delegation, the training contents are involved from the pick-up registration of athletes to the opening ceremony to the stadium, which gives our party a better understanding of the organization of the entire Olympic Games. Much of the training is based on the Beijing Olympic Games, and one sentence is often heard-what to do and how to deal with what problems during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

During the second training, the team leader told everyone that the task also included driving and required a British driver's license. The athletes and officials who thought it was important received it, and who was responsible for the accident while driving-sure enough, someone had an accident on the first day of driving training in early June (mainly to understand the road conditions and the special route for the Olympic Games). Later, when the second group of people were training, there would be a coach to do a safety assessment with the car and brush off a group of people. Although I have been driving in England for a year and a half, I told the tour leader because of the poor parking skills. The organization actually arranged for me to have a car, and said that there would not be many parking opportunities, and each car had a special parking area. The reception vehicle of the delegation is a BMW 3 Series manual transmission, and each car rents 3,000 pounds per week, which is about 3 W. So much money is actually used to buy passes and parking permits for various venues and the Olympic Village, not including the expensive parking fees in London. British cars are not expensive, and you can buy new ones in a few weeks. I don't know about other groups, but most of the NOC teams are uncles and aunts, and many people are not familiar with manual gears. There were four people in my car that day, each driving for an hour, and then they changed people. I just want to use four words to describe the experience that day: "thrilling": hanging down when turning, using second gear on the expressway and so on. But the coach finally only said, "I still have to practice."

There are still about 1 month before the opening of the Olympic Games in mid-June. I went to the Olympic Village and various competition venues for the last driving training. At that time, the greening of the Olympic Village had not been completed, and roads were being built around the venues. On July 17, the athletes will move in the next day, but the beds in the Olympic Village have not been installed yet. It was found that many people worked overtime to make their beds, and worked from 9: 00 a.m. to night for two consecutive days 1 1. After the start of the competition, most service volunteers work more than 1 1 hour every day, get up at 4 o'clock in the morning shift and listen to the briefing by the team leader; At 7 o'clock in the venue; The night shift will last until 1 am at the latest, which is 2-3 hours beyond the normal working hours. Europeans are very good at arranging working hours. Is this the usage of free labor now? The organization and preparation of the Olympic Organizing Committee are progressing slowly. Why do we volunteers have to work hard for you? And many volunteers are older uncles and aunts. They are all your own nationals. As an ordinary foreign volunteer, I can't stand it.

Let me talk about the treatment of volunteers. It is normal for the London Olympic Organizing Committee not to provide accommodation, and large-scale events rarely provide accommodation for volunteers. The average weekly rent of a house in London is about 150, which is about RMB 1500 yuan. During the Olympic Games, the rent basically doubled. Londoners don't care whether you are a volunteer or a tourist, so volunteers organize to set up collective tents in the park. In terms of transportation, 7W volunteers in London got a public transportation card, and they can take public transportation in London 1-6 area, but they have to pay for the MRT line and their own training. I specially dug out the brochure for recruiting Olympic volunteers in May, 20 10, which clearly stated that the Olympic Organizing Committee would bear the train expenses from London to Newcastle, Manchester and other co-host cities, and the starting station or terminal station was one of the above cities, and the Olympic Organizing Committee could reimburse it. 20 12 June, saying it was not reimbursed. Because accommodation in central London is relatively expensive, many people choose to live in a small village in the suburbs of London. Therefore, they must pay the train tickets for the London Olympic Games every day and get up early to avoid being late. What's even more shameless is that I work less than five hours and don't give food. Can it be more shameless? At least the organizers who have participated in the event are not cheaper than the London Olympic Organizing Committee.

The selection of volunteers is slow and not authentic. At that time, the total number of applicants was about 13W, and finally about 7W people were admitted. 20 10 10 online application is over. 20 1 1 Send an interview invitation around March. The interview group divided Britain into more than a dozen regions and then stayed in each region for half a month to a month. I was originally interviewed in Manchester City in April, but later, for personal reasons, I asked to go to Northern Ireland in June to attend an interview at Queen's College, the capital of Northern Ireland. After the interview, it was a long wait. On February 20th11,the quotation was received. In February, many people were still under review. Every few months, they received an email from the London Olympic Organizing Committee saying that they had not forgotten everyone and asked everyone to wait patiently for Bla, Bla, Bla ... Later, I learned from a friend of the interview team that the Olympic Organizing Committee divided all the participants into two gradients. Those who didn't get the OFFER at the beginning of 20 12 are actually on the replacement list to prevent someone from quitting at the end and the staffing is not enough. By the end of May, many people did quit, and the chief culprit of this result was the Olympic Organizing Committee. BOCOG has not provided any materials for foreign volunteers to apply for visas, and it is very strict that volunteers must hold a British visa above 2065438+2002165438+1October 8. The Olympics and Paralympics ended in mid-September, but why do volunteers need visas after165438+1October 8? A: The visas granted by the UK to all foreign athletes are valid until165438+1October 8. What logic is this? Does the visa for volunteers have anything to do with the visa for athletes? This problem has been bothering me for a long time ... In May, many people were forced to quit after training, which embarrassed volunteers who flew in from Brazil and South America. Then the Olympic Organizing Committee found that there were not enough people and conducted another round of telephone interviews on the replacement list. Less than two months before the start of the Olympic Games, interviews are still being organized ... Even some people go to work directly without interviews and training ... Misjudgments frequently occur in Olympic events, which makes me wonder. Are even referees temporary amateur referees? Until the official start of the game, there are still people whose status is under review. They could have booked their air tickets early and made other arrangements for their holidays, but they were fooled again and again by the Olympic Organizing Committee.

Apart from London, there is hardly any publicity about the Olympic Games in other places and cities in Britain. Even my English classmates and friends asked me when the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games was. Give two real examples. At the end of July, I took the last subway back to my residence. Because not long after the game, there were many people on the subway, including many people who got off at one stop. There is an English blind girl, estimated to be around 20 years old. With the help of her family, she got off the bus slowly. Her father (guessed her age) walked in front, holding the girl's hand face to face, and her relatives helped her on both sides. On the way to tiemenguan, I caught her father. What's more, the door didn't open automatically, so the tourists around it opened together. When the girl realized what had happened, she leaned on her father's shoulder and was very sad. Her family comforted her. I was wearing a work permit, and an Englishman next to me asked me what I thought of the organization of the Olympic Games. I didn't answer (in fact, I was thinking about how to defend the Olympic Games in this embarrassing situation, so that it wouldn't be too embarrassing. After all, I am a member of the Olympic Games). When he saw that I didn't answer, he told me loudly that he and his friends thought this Olympic Games was Shi T. In addition, in driving training, every time you turn on the car GPS, you have to download the latest road map from the command center. At that time, the system design was not good, and various detours were taken. Besides, I'm not familiar with the road conditions in London. The coach said nervously, get off the bus quickly and don't stay in other people's communities. Many people in London are very disgusted with this Olympic Games. Since the people don't support it and the national economy is in recession, why did you apply for hosting the 20 12 Olympic Games?

Listen to your partner, in the 200-meter freestyle final, China and South Korea tied for the silver medal, and the national flag was raised and lowered. The height of the flag-raising ceremony represents the ranking. Even if there is a tie, it should be put aside and the national flag should be raised side by side. Britain has hosted three Olympic Games. Don't you even understand this tradition? The explanation given-there is not enough side-by-side space. There is no bronze medal when the silver medal is tied. Even if tied, only three national flags will be raised. Why can you put it down when the rankings are tied again? An explanation of why the Korean flag is above and the China flag is below —— According to the initials of the athletes, China is behind. Before the start of the competition, representatives of the participating countries met in London, and the flags of the two countries were reversed during the war (not South Korea and North Korea). Later, it was discovered and corrected before the meeting began, and then a training was arranged to know the national flags and abbreviations of various countries, including athletes, the order in which delegations appeared at the opening ceremony and so on. During the training, it can be clearly seen that they are arranged alphabetically by country. But when it comes to awarding prizes, the actual competitions will be sorted according to the initials of the athletes. Moreover, during that training, it was particularly emphasized that the flags of several countries with tense relations must not be mistaken, including China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, the Middle East and some countries in Africa. It stands to reason that the Olympic Organizing Committee should first consider avoiding suspicion in the current ROK-China relations. In the past few days, the flags of South Korea and North Korea have been mistaken at least twice. Either the British are playing tricks or the captain on duty has shit in his head. Did he eat too many potatoes and be stupid?

Ye broke the record and won the gold medal, and was asked by the media if he had taken stimulants with a microphone. Western developed countries have always been proud of attaching importance to human rights, but now they throw dirty water at China athletes regardless of the face of "gentlemen", which damages the reputation of our athletes. It is really ridiculous. Ye Shiwen passed the doping test and changed his mind, saying that Ye Shiwen was genetically modified. Academic newspapers even published articles about the unreality of Ye's record-breaking gold medal.

Then one thing that happened was really more than anger. Two days ago, it was reported that eight players in badminton women's doubles were disqualified-China, South Korea and Indonesia are all badminton powers. It is said that in order to increase the enjoyment, the London Olympic Games changed the badminton women's doubles rule to group match plus elimination match. Many children's shoes have posted detailed explanations of the new competition system. To tell the truth, maybe, I mean, maybe, the new competition system was really established by the International Badminton Federation to give ordinary players more opportunities to play on the international stage, but I just want to ask one question: Do you still think the new competition system is successful, because a group of players just lose? Badminton Federation regards women's doubles as a team competition? Team competition There is only one team in a country. When a country has two teams participating in the same competition, it is difficult to find any other competition except the badminton women's doubles in this Olympic Games. Why is China's traditional strength always changed again and again in recent years? Did the IFs solicit the opinions of badminton powers when formulating the rules? Why are the athletes ultimately responsible for the problems in the competition? The president of the International Badminton Federation also solemnly stated at the press conference that the new competition system was a great success. I want to ask, without the rules made by your ass, do you still have a chance to hold this conference? Don't you have a responsibility as a rule maker? Even if eight competitions are held at the same time, the group competition system can be avoided. Does it mean that the International Badminton Federation is also responsible? Should the IBF be dissolved? At least, several directors who made the new competition system should be punished together. However, the penalty decision is to disqualify four groups of athletes. In so many Olympic Games, there seems to be no more severe punishment than this one, except doping. When making this decision, did you ever think about what impact it would have on athletes? Four years of hard work, how many four years does an athlete have? As a professional athlete, especially in China, maybe ranking and gold medal really mean everything. Let's talk about the passive competition of China athletes first, and then look at the European football field. Are there still fewer people playing silent ball in the group stage? I don't want to compare badminton with football. You change the competition system to be the same as football, but there will be an English team and an English team in the football match? Will there be a club A team and a club B team in the group stage of the same league? We want to win all the gold and silver cards. Why? ! Which athlete or country doesn't want to win more medals? ! Later, in the women's badminton singles third place, Wang Xin retired. If you don't know the reason, you can ask Du Niang yourself.

I was very sad to read everyone's comments on the disqualification of badminton women's doubles online, and even many Chinese people applauded. Our compatriots are working hard in foreign countries, being bullied by others, and the country refuses to stand out. Everyone kept clapping and cheering. What kind of mentality are these people? Do Lu Xun's works lament his misfortune and anger his indisputable weak people? If you are an athlete, will you feel chilling? Will anyone be willing to represent China in international competitions in the future? When did it start? China has become so disunited? Everyone is immersed in doing their own thing, not caring about each other, not caring about immigration, not caring about making money. At the stadium that day, I really cried when I saw the news on the screen that the International Badminton Federation had disqualified China athletes.

After that, Ding Ning, a table tennis player, was misjudged by S.B. referees several times. Is it really a misjudgment? Or the referee's own level, or China? Why did the Olympic judges punish China so severely? It's been four years, but this is an opportunity. The London Olympic Organizing Committee, the Federation and the western media are all unhappy. Look at the faces of those media and some viewers, and you will understand what a gentleman is a hypocrite and a villain is a real villain. Some people may say that the final gold medals are all from China. Yes, all the gold medals came from China, but what about the individual athletes? Can you imagine the sacrifices and efforts of being a professional athlete in China? Because of unfair treatment, I missed my gold medal. What would you do if it were you?

I thought I was past the age of cynicism, and I was still angry when I heard that Englishman disdainfully said that China had won the first gold medal. It seems that after so many years, China's international status has not changed much, and it is often in the position of being bullied by developed countries. Then suddenly there is a very vulgar feeling that strengthening the country and enriching the people is the last word, and the rest are just clouds.

As far as things are concerned, the British Olympics is like shit, but the partners who work together are very good, and everyone gets along well, especially the older Britons, who are very kind and enthusiastic. I remember getting lost in an English town. An old man with gray hair walked nearly two kilometers and took me to my destination. Coupled with Britain's sense of history and natural scenery, it is still worth a visit.

London, you won. This Olympic Games is destined to be remembered by the world. Finally, use two words to describe the London Olympic Games: Hehe.

PS: The above contents are all my real experiences, and some of them are relayed by other volunteer working group partners.

In fact, the purpose of writing this log is really not to belittle anyone, nor to defend anyone. The system problem is not the point I want to talk about. A normal China person knows that there are many problems to be solved in our country now. There are so many things in the log, but there are actually only two-1. The London Olympic Organizing Committee is upside down, which is very unreliable; Don't say that we tolerate our country, but should we tolerate our athletes? They have to compete under the pressure of the state and leaders and unfair punishment. Without the support of the people of China, the Olympic Games will be meaningless to the people of China. No matter whether he won a medal or not, he tried his best and was a hero. Don't rise to the height of ethnic contradictions and ideological and cultural contradictions between the East and the West ... just think of it as a stick that spits ... -.-lll

I have encountered many things before, and many opinions may be a little extreme, but if you put yourself in the shoes, how would you feel if you heard foreigners gossiping about our country at the stadium? ...

Diary on August 7th: After reading some comments from everyone, time is limited, so I can't reply to them one by one, so I just want to answer a few questions. Many people say, if volunteers work so hard, why should they participate? I'm not a fairy, I can't predict the future. To be responsible, if I had known that the London Olympics was like this 1 years ago, I would never have signed up for it. In addition, what I care about is not the poor treatment of volunteers, but many things promised by the organizing Committee before the game. The official start of the game has become another saying. The cost of living in London is already high, and the proportion of train tickets is really small. This is a question of honesty. Does anyone still want to be stood up?

Many people insist on comparing the London Olympic Games with the Beijing Olympic Games, saying how much taxpayers' money was wasted in 2008, what are the problems, and is there any suspicion of changing the subject? I don't deny the problems of the current system in China, but these are really not the focus of my diary. It seems that what I said is a fair question. So it will cost a lot of money for the referee to make a fair judgment according to your logic? London spends less money, so it is understandable that there are various problems? Please forgive me, I am too ignorant to understand.

Others left a message saying that the London Olympics was not aimed at China, but at the people of China, which reflected their lack of confidence. I also hope, really hope that the Olympics has nothing to do with politics. Perhaps some countries still regard sports events as political tasks, but at least as referees, they should treat athletes from any country in the world equally, unify standards, and be responsible for their own careers and all the athletes participating. To err is human, one or two times may really be misjudged, but what about three or four misjudgments that happened to athletes in the same country (and some punishments are really far-fetched)? People have to reflect, and these reflections are different. Everyone's experience and background are different, so there is no need to insult each other just because they disagree.

There are also people who talk about the state system and all kinds of social problems in China. Ok, I support you, but can we not spray everything? Athletes are also companions and victims of our national sports system to a certain extent. After all, there are only a few athletes who can win the gold medal. There is not a trace of comfort or even a trace of pleasure in seeing the athletes of their own country injured in foreign sports fields. Please forgive those who have this mentality. I just want to say.

Today, after watching Interview with Rings, I choked back my tears and finally cried. It seems that this is not the first time. I don't know what to say. Again, China athletes, no matter what the ranking, you are all heroes.
