Economic and social development planning of Danjiangkou reservoir area, a regional central city in Danjiangkou reservoir area

According to the work arrangement of the first meeting of the inter-ministerial joint meeting on water pollution prevention and soil and water conservation planning in Danjiangkou reservoir area and its upper reaches, from June 8, 2007 to June 8, 2007, the Regional Department of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Environmental Transfer Department of the State Council South-to-North Water Transfer Office organized the National Macroeconomic Research Institute, the planning unit, to investigate the economic and social development of Danjiangkou reservoir area. The research team inspected the construction of facilities such as industry, agriculture, transportation, culture, environmental protection and soil and water conservation in the reservoir area, and listened to the reports on the economic and social development of Shiyan City, Hubei Province, Nanyang City, Henan Province and related counties and cities.

The implementation of the Middle Route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project will put forward new requirements for the economic and social development and ecological environment construction in Danjiangkou reservoir area. On the premise of ensuring the water quality of the reservoir area and doing a good job in resettlement, we should clarify the development ideas of the reservoir area and handle the relationship between protecting the ecological environment and the economic development and continuously improving people's living standards in the reservoir area. By adjusting the local industrial structure and layout, urban development and spatial layout, we will promote the development of our own advantages and upgrade the industrial structure, and strive to achieve the coordination and unity of economic development, affluent life and good ecological environment in the reservoir area. The planning scope of Danjiangkou Reservoir Area and its upstream area includes 43 counties (urban areas) in Henan, Hubei and Shaanxi provinces, with dengzhou city, Xichuan and Xixia counties in Henan Province and 8 reservoir areas (urban areas) in zhangwan district, Maojian District, danjiangkou city, Yunxian County and Yunxi County in Hubei Province as the core, and Dengzhou, Shiyan, Ankang, Hanzhong and Shangluo as the regional central cities. The planned area of Danjiangkou reservoir area and its upstream area is 1 1. 1300 square kilometers, of which the reservoir area is 20,300 square kilometers. The National Development and Reform Commission has formulated the economic and social development plan for Danjiangkou Reservoir Area and its upper reaches, giving priority to supporting the sustainable economic and social development of counties and cities within the planning scope while ensuring the long-term stability of the water quality in the reservoir area.
