Interim Measures for the Administration of Collection and Use of Large and Medium-sized Reservoir Funds

Legal Analysis: According to the relevant provisions of the State Council's Opinions on Perfecting the Support Policies for Large and Medium-sized Reservoir Resettlement (Guo Fa [2006]17), with the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Finance has formulated the Interim Measures for the Administration of the Collection and Use of Support Funds for Large and Medium-sized Reservoir Resettlement, which are hereby printed and distributed to you. Please follow them. The list of large and medium-sized reservoirs across provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, the list of local financial supervisory offices of the Ministry of Finance specifically responsible for the collection of funds for large and medium-sized reservoirs, and the standards for the collection of funds for large and medium-sized reservoirs applicable to each reservoir will be notified separately.

Legal basis: Interim Measures for the Administration of the Collection and Use of Large and Medium-sized Reservoir Funds.

Article 1 In order to promote the economic and social development of reservoir areas and resettlement areas, these Measures are formulated in accordance with the relevant provisions of the State Council's Opinions on Improving Resettlement Support Policies for Large and Medium-sized Reservoirs (Guo Fa [2006]17).

Article 2 The state integrates the original reservoir area maintenance fund, the original reservoir area late-stage support fund and the resettlement late-stage support fund undertaken by large and medium-sized operational reservoirs, and establishes large and medium-sized reservoir area funds (hereinafter referred to as reservoir area funds), which are mainly used for the following aspects:

(a) to support the implementation of infrastructure construction and economic development planning in reservoir areas and resettlement areas;

(two) to support the reservoir protection project and the maintenance of production and living facilities for immigrants;

(three) to solve other problems left by reservoir resettlement.
