Chaozhou dialect and Chaozhou dialect culture

Chaozhou dialect, namely Chaozhou dialect and Chaozhou dialect, is a sub-dialect in southern Fujian, which is distributed in Chaoshan area and overseas Chinese area in eastern Guangdong. It is called Chaozhou dialect or Chaozhou in English. Linguistically, Chaozhou dialect originated from ancient Minnan dialect, and chaozhou people's ancestors were mostly Han people in the Central Plains. During the 9th century to15th century, in order to escape the war, immigrants went south through Putian, Fujian, and entered the eastern part of Guangdong, which is now Chaozhou. Due to the closed geographical environment, the immigrants have well preserved the cultural tradition of China in the Middle Ages, and the language used has gradually developed into today's quaint, elegant, vivid and humorous independent dialect.

The ancient Chaozhou mansion in history includes modern Chaozhou, Chaoan, Raoping, Shantou, Chaoyang, Chenghai, Jieyang, Jiedong, Puning, Huilai and other Hakka areas, such as Tai Po and Fengshun. The title of "Chaozhou dialect" comes from this place and has been used for more than 1000 years, which has been widely recognized by hipsters at home and abroad. Chaozhou dialect has complex pronunciation, rich vocabulary, special grammar, many ancient semantics and many monographs on language research. It is one of the oldest and most special dialects in China today, and is praised as "the living fossil of ancient Chinese" by linguists. For the vast number of chaozhou people, Chaozhou dialect is a bond to maintain feelings, which has great cohesion and influence. Especially in a foreign country, as long as there is a cordial tide sound, it is "one of our own".
