This is 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature's award speech for One Hundred Years of Solitude. These days, I stayed in the library for more than two weeks before I finished reading Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude. Although I have read it for so long and carefully, I still feel that the article is really obscure and I have little knowledge of the work. I don't know how much I understand.

The structure of the novel is a reciprocating structure, whether it is the plot or the time, or even the names of the characters. Marquez dragged the Buendia family and readers into a cycle of time and space, made the Buendia family experience a cycle of fate, and made readers feel the ups and downs of the Buendia family.

The plot of this novel is very bizarre. In the small town of Magondeau, the Buendia family staged a hundred years of ups and downs. This family turned from decline to prosperity, and from prosperity to decline. After a hundred years of history, it has turned around and returned to its original appearance. Nothing can escape the curse. A. Mr. Buendia married his cousin Wusu, and Asula refused to share a room with Mr. A. Buendia for fear that she would give birth to a child with a pig's tail like menstruation and marry her uncle. When Boondia's neighbor had an argument, Boondia killed his neighbor because he laughed at him for refusing to share a room with Ursula. Old Ursula is gone, and the whole Buendia family is aging. He predicted everything, but he could only watch everyone die and the family decline. Why? Until now, I haven't figured out what this role is. Is it showing human helplessness? Ursula is the spiritual pillar of this family, right? As the first generation of Macondo immigrants. Buendia discovered Macondo, where they took root, developed and expanded, introduced civilization, but also declined, and brought war, bloodshed and plague. Perhaps this is the meaning of this book, the miniature world, the restless heart peculiar to human beings after everything. Maybe I should also talk about Colonel Aureliano Bourdieu. I didn't understand him until he died. I don't understand why Amarandan Ursula came back and lived a life incompatible with Macondo. Does she want to change him? Maybe she has the spirit and willpower similar to her great-grandmother, but she is still not Ursula, so she failed. The most incomprehensible thing is their "abnormal" love. I don't know if this is appropriate. The last love of Buendia family ended this once brilliant but lonely family for a hundred years. Just as the mysterious scroll predicted: the first person in the family was tied to a tree, and the last person was eaten by ants.

Maybe I can't read the bigger and broader meaning in the book. A good book, read by 100 people, will have these 100 understandings. I saw them try their best to have some feelings, but failed to make corresponding efforts. Maybe they are selfish and indifferent, maybe we are the same, but they should work hard until the moment of death. ...
