holders of tourist visas who wish to extend their visas should personally apply to the local immigration bureau with their passports within the validity period of the original visas. But not more than twice at most.

Re-entry Permit
Foreigners living in Korea who wish to leave Korea and re-enter the country within a specific period need not apply for a new visa as long as they have obtained a re-entry permit before leaving the country.
