Document requirements:
TOEFL iBT requires candidates to carry a passport signed by themselves or two types of documents at the same time, at least one of which is a type I document. Residents of Taiwan must and can only carry the Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan residents.
Non-Chinese candidates can only take the exam with their passports. Personal information such as name and date of birth on the certificate must be completely consistent with the registration information. If a candidate does not bring the documents required by ETS or does not meet the requirements, he or she will be refused entry to the examination room and the examination fee will not be refunded.
The first type of documents accepted by ETS includes legal and valid Chinese passports, official resident identity cards (including Hong Kong and Macao identity cards) and Chinese military documents.
The second-category documents accepted are legal and valid identity certificates issued by government departments, including Chinese passports, official resident ID cards, military IDs, driver's licenses, student ID cards, and the student status management department or public security agency of the school where the candidate is located. An official letter of identification with photo and official seal.
Documents that ETS does not accept include but are not limited to: any expired documents, any forged documents, international driving licenses, international student ID cards, any study cards, any credit cards, notarized letters (books), social security cards, Work card (certificate), any temporary ID, any photocopied ID, etc.
