Shenyang old saying: Where do Xicheng people come from?

There is an old saying in Shenyang that people in Xicheng are bounded by Jinzhou. People who emigrate from Shanhaiguan to the west of Jinzhou for a period of time and then move north are called Xicheng people.

In the north of Shenyang, it is divided into Chengnan people and Xicheng people. People in Xicheng are bounded by Jinzhou. After emigrating from Shanhaiguan to settle in the west of Jinzhou for a period of time, some people moved northward. Chengnan people are also bounded by Jinzhou, but they first moved to southern Liaoning and then moved to the north of Shenyang. This is the so-called Chengnan people.

Take the character Zhang as an example. I am Linhetang Zhang, originally from Shandong, and joined the development of Northeast China in the tide of "eastward advancement" in the late Qing Dynasty. The fertile soil in the northeast gave Zhang Xinsheng to Linhetang. In return, Lin Hetang Zhang also took Jilin pear tree as his ancestral home and took root in the northeast.

As the family moved northward, the Zhang family in Linhetang gradually spread all over the northeast, widely distributed in the three northeastern provinces. The Zhang family in Linhetang has been bred for ten generations, but there has been no genealogy. This has also become my motivation to look for family history, hoping that one day my family can have their own complete spectrum.

It has been more than 250 years since our ancestors came to Guangdong. From a few families at that time to more than 200 people now, they are distributed in more than a dozen cities and counties in Shandong, Jilin, Heilongjiang and Hebei provinces. Our beautiful life today cannot be separated from the pioneering spirit of our ancestors. Without them, there would be no us and no happy life today.
