Is New Zealand a developed country?
National population (about 450W)
The population is the same as that of Australia. Because it was far away from other inland areas, few people chose to stay in the early colonial period, and the population was naturally small. The pressure is not great, so the reproductive capacity is not very good and the population growth is slow. Basically, immigrants and refugees are needed to feed now.
City size (Auckland, the largest city, with a population of about 150W)
150W The level of a county in China, right? The population of any eastern coastal city can kill you. With a small population, it will be difficult for you to do things, and the size of the city will certainly be much smaller.
Entertainment (There is also a KTV in Auckland. What else is there outside Oakland? )
Of course, this is different from China people's thinking. As an international student, you may feel that foreigners' entertainment programs are not good, there are no decent entertainment places, casinos are small and KTV level is poor. You have been to Sanlitun, a bar and nightclub, and then look here. I guess you have no desire at all. However, there is one problem you need to understand. After all, there are only a few international students. Many foreigners have their own entertainment. They think it's interesting to play, such as fishing in the sea, sunbathing in the park to feed birds, bungee jumping in South Island (the birthplace of bungee jumping), taking a hot air balloon, taking a hot spring bath, going to road trip and so on. It can't be said that entertainment in New Zealand is not good and boring, but that we grew up in different environments and have different hobbies for entertainment. Of course, international students in China like these, and entertainment in New Zealand is more like watching for the elderly. Therefore, the degree of development in New Zealand is relatively simple, not as diversified as in China.
Urban infrastructure (I have seen two-way 16 lanes in many places in China? New Zealand, forget it)
In fact, urban infrastructure is a common problem that few people send to the country. A car goes to the world, high-speed rail? It doesn't exist. Building a high-speed rail is not as cheap as a plane. Because there are few people, the bus can't operate. It is a fact that the internet speed is not good. New Zealand is too far away to lay cables, and the cost of connecting with the outside is really high, so there are few people, so this piece is not willing to invest a lot of money to build it. And New Zealand is not as keen on mobile phones as it is at home. Everyone prefers real life to online life. In 20 17, many local young people can read newspapers for an hour with a cup of coffee. We cannot deeply understand this mentality.
Conclusion:
Judging from the developed coastal cities in China, New Zealand is indeed underdeveloped, even lagging behind many second-tier cities in China. Because this country is really far away from the mainstream world and has its own industries and competitiveness, but its comprehensive national strength is really average, not a little worse than that of China.
But after all, we are foreigners, and what is behind in our eyes may be the essence that their country values. Developed and underdeveloped can't be completely described in economic sense. Many humanities, internal references and software need to be accumulated and precipitated. China is in an era of rapid development, and the GDP of many places is already the level of developed countries, but it still lacks the ability to calm down and take a good look at itself, which is also some differences between traditional giants and new giants.
But New Zealand is still extremely developed in the eyes of a small number of people in China. Who are they?
If we compare the salary and development opportunities of Beishangguang with the job market in Auckland, New Zealand will be beaten to pieces. But you may have overlooked the proportion of house prices in it.
Ordinary people are already in the minority to get 10K-20K wages in Beishangguang by themselves. This is still the salary of the financial and IT industries, and there are still messy industries that are far from getting this salary! But what about house prices? The number of commercial pigeon coops that can live in has risen to 5W. Of course, if you don't mind commuting for 2-3 hours every day, there are more than 2W disks.
Not everyone in Beishangguang can finally afford a commercial house with an annual salary of one million (Auckland basically buys a single-family villa at home), and everyone has a hukou and can afford to go to school.
Moreover, not all the 654.38+04 billion people in China live in the north, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and there are ordinary people in third-and fourth-tier cities, with a per capita salary of 3K-5K. Except for most government companies, house prices are not low relative to wages. Of course, the total price here is cheaper than Auckland, but the salary has been completely ignored by Auckland's salary.
In the eyes of these people, New Zealand is developed. If you can immigrate, your living standard will be much better than that in China, and you will feel old. One room, two cars and one dog ignore it. Not to mention living in a villa every day, driving after work, watching the blue sky and white clouds and all kinds of scenery along the way, getting off work every day when I arrive or even not, and talking to my children about today's happy things at night. And we sit outside the dark subway every day, and we can only look at our mobile phones when the signal is good, thinking about whether we don't know what time to get off work today, whether we can see our wife and children at night, how to live after the mortgage is paid next month, and what if the children go back to their hometown to go to school when they are older and then fail to go to college? It seems that New Zealand is quite developed.
In fact, many times, some foreign soft cultures are developed and humanistic. Simply put, welfare is a kind of balance based on economic development and achieved after years of precipitation. People are the main body of society, not slaves under the state machine. Too many times, we will have the opposite illusion. Can only say that we are still too young and our ancestors are not rich enough. At present, it has not reached the stage of large-scale awakening, and most people are still resigned to their fate.
At this point, foreign countries are really developed, including but not limited to New Zealand.
The most prosperous time for a country like New Zealand was in the 1970s, when the economy reached its peak.
Followed by a long economic reform and economic growth stagnation, of course, there is no way to compare with mainstream developed countries such as the United States. In addition to the United States, the economies of many developed countries were stagnant at that time. For example, Japan, which was in full swing in the 1980 s, has been sluggish since then. This mainly means that a country like New Zealand has rich ancestry and rapid wealth accumulation, just like China today. With the stagnation of economy, class solidification is becoming more and more obvious, and more and more young people can't see hope. I believe this kind of problem will appear in China many years later, so I won't mention it here.
The rapid development of China in recent decades has given us many illusions, that is, money is increasing by leaps and bounds, and wealth myths are one after another, and everyone is looking at money. Many soft things such as humanistic care and human nature testing are scarce. Of course it's understandable. If people can't afford to eat, buy a house or get married, and these basic needs can't be met, who will have the energy to think about these things that can't eat but can only talk about feelings?
This may be the disadvantage brought by the current development of China. The rapid development of economy has not brought the precipitation of humanities, and humanities software takes time. Modern China is still too young.
