You do not need a passport to go to Taiwan.

To travel from the mainland to Taiwan, you need to apply for a Taiwan Travel Permit for Mainland Residents and its visa (issued by the mainland), plus a Taiwan Entry Permit (issued by the Taiwan Immigration Department) through an authorized travel agency, commonly known as two certificates and one visa.

Documents required to apply for the Taiwan Pass

(1) Complete the "Resident Travel Permit Application Form to Taiwan", fill in the front and back, in duplicate;

(2) One two-inch color photo with a white background, affixed to the application form;

(3) Original and copy of ID card and household register;

(4) Apply at the same time The corresponding endorsement, such as G endorsement for independent travel.

The application location: the Exit-Entry Administration Office of the Public Security Department where the household registration is located. You cannot find someone to do it on your behalf.

Processing time and fee: 15 working days, 5 working days for urgent cases. The pass fee is RMB 30 per pass, the valid endorsement for one visit to Taiwan is RMB 20 per time, and the valid endorsement for multiple times is RMB 100 per piece.
