1. The Syrian Arab Republic, commonly known as Syria, is located in the west of Asia, on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea, bordering Turkey in the north, Iraq in the east, Jordan in the south, Lebanon and Palestine in the southwest, and Cyprus across the Mediterranean Sea in the west, including the Golan Heights, with a total area of 185 1800 square kilometers.
