National Independence Memorial Gate National Independence Arch

Located in Georgetown, it is an arched aluminum building. The design is concise and meaningful. Pedestals on both sides are taken from quartzite in Cuyuni River area. Three aluminum pipes rise upward and are connected with each other, representing three major rivers and three early colonies in Guyana, namely Esquembo, Demerara and Bobbis. Six aluminum columns represent six ethnic groups in Guyana. The memorial gate was made of osmanthus aluminum by the Canadian "De Melara Bauxite Company" of osmanthus when it became independent in 1966. It was designed by Canadian engineer Edric Flak and presented to the Guihua government. ?

1763 Monument

Located in Georgetown Revolution Square, facing the Independence Memorial Gate, it was built to commemorate the slave uprising in Bobis plantation led by Cuffy, a Guyanese black hero, in 1763. It was unveiled in May/976. The base is made of 2.5 tons of bronze, with a height of 10. 1 m, and Kafka statue stands on it. Designed and carved by Guiana sculptor Philip Moore, it has a West African artistic style. ?

1834 monument

Located in the center of Anareggina town, in memory of 1834 black Damon. Damon was hanged to protest against the planter's deliberate provocation and led 300 black apprentices to passive resistance. In a street garden in Georgetown (west of St. George's Cathedral), busts of four founders of the Non-Aligned Movement-Nasser in Egypt, nkrumah in Ghana, Nehru in India and Tito in Yugoslavia-stand on an arc-shaped low wall, and four natural stones collected from the Ilun River stand in a small pool next to it. ?

Amore Martyrs Monument

Emmore Village, located about 23km east of Georgetown, commemorates five workers who were shot dead by colonial police on June 1948. The whole building is made of white cement, with a height of 7.6m and a pedestal height of1.8m.. There are five brass machetes with the names of five martyrs engraved on them. ?

Jiefang monument

Located in front of the big straw shed in Georgetown, it was built in 1974 to commemorate the freedom fighters of the African liberation movement and symbolize the unity between Guyana and Africa. The base is granite, and five green stakes are erected on it, 3-4 meters high, indicating the power of pursuing freedom. Around 10, many irregular gravels symbolize the people in Qian Qian who will continue to fight for freedom. ?

war memorial

Located in Georgetown, it commemorates Guyana soldiers who died in World War I and World War II. This monument is made of marble and is 4.6 meters high. Inscriptions such as "dedication", "humanity", "fortitude" and "sacrifice" are engraved on the four sides of the base.
