Basic Survey of Tibetan Township in Qiao Qi

Qiao Qi was the seat of Qiang people in Tsing Yi during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, and its residents were Qiang people in Tsing Yi. The local pronunciation is "Yao Ji", which is the transliteration of Jia Rong's Tibetan language "Yongji", meaning a flat, wide and rich place. However, when the official Chinese written name was formed, it was two single-column words found in the dictionary, meaning "the land is hard and not fertile" and "the sandy land without vegetation", which was completely opposite to the original intention. From the naming point of view, this is a barren place in the official view, but it is a rich family in the folk view. Qiao Qi Tibetan Township is now the only ethnic township in Baoxing County, Sichuan Province, with a population of more than 5,000 people, scattered in the mountains with an altitude of 888.9 square kilometers and 2000-3000 meters. Tibetan villagers account for 95%, belonging to Jiarong Tibetans, and most of them know Chinese.

Jiarong Tibetans have always been a tough people. In those years, it took seven years to sign Jia Rong in Qianlong and Qianlong Jinchuan areas. The second time lasted more than five years, and125,000 soldiers (14,000 people were killed, including 908 officials), 462,000 civilian workers and more than 70 million yuan were used to put down the rebellion. Jinchuan, on the other hand, has an area of less than a hundred miles and a population of only 40,000, including only 4,000 troops. Jojo is on the edge of Jia Rong, and the scene of cutting cow hair with his bare hands and putting down unruly yak is undoubtedly the best embodiment of modern Jia Rong's Tibetan character.
