What is a student visa?
American immigration law provides two kinds of non-immigrant visas for students studying in the United States. "F" visa is issued to international students who go to the United States for academic research; The "M" visa is issued to international students who are engaged in non-academic or vocational studies. To obtain a student visa, an applicant must first apply and be accepted by an American school. Applicants who apply for a study visa in the United States must first prove that they have the ability to be full-time students in the United States. Applicants must also prove that the sole purpose of their short stay in the United States is to complete their studies in established academic institutions.
