The academic structure of Dutch immigrant education

Education is compulsory (the Dutch legislature stipulates that education is compulsory from the age of 5 to 16, and most children start primary school at the age of 4. Although the structure of primary education in the Netherlands is very simple, the structure of secondary education in the Netherlands often looks chaotic, because there are many ways and graduation ages in secondary schools.
In fact, middle schools in the Netherlands are very similar to those in most other countries. One is in charge of students' vocational training and the other is in charge of students' university education. The main difference in the Netherlands is that there is a third type of high school, which prepares students for their studies in applied science universities.
Dutch school system:
Dutch day care, nursery and kindergarten
In the Netherlands, babies can receive all kinds of non-compulsory education before the age of five. The choice of day-care education includes nursery, kindergarten or nursery. Parents or relatives can also take care of it.
Dutch Primary School (Pasteur)
A primary school or a primary school (Lagree School) has eight grades. Primary school didn't become a compulsory course until the second groping, that is, at the age of five, but most children in groping No.1 Middle School started school at the age of four. Students study in primary school for 8 years until 12 years old, where they acquire basic skills such as reading, writing and arithmetic. Preparatory secondary vocational education
VMBO is a four-year vocational course with practical knowledge as the core and vocational training as the orientation. The program has two qualification levels, and students complete their studies at the age of 16.
Advanced general secondary education
HAVO is a five-year intermediate course to prepare students for higher vocational education. The University of Applied Science (University of Pig Gallbladder) can study for the Bachelor of Applied Science (HBO). About 17-year-old students completed the HAVO course.
Pre-university education
VWo is a six-year education process, which focuses on theoretical knowledge and enables students to study for a bachelor's degree (Wo) in universities. Research university. Students study VWO in Athena and Gymnasium, and complete this process at the age of 18.
