Short story "Good Causes Bring Good Results"
More than twenty years ago, immigration to the United States was booming.
A young lawyer named Mike established a law firm that specializes in handling various immigration matters.
But the good times did not last long. In a flash, he invested all his assets in stocks and failed and went bankrupt.
Just when he was lamenting that he didn’t know how to spend the rest of his life, he received a letter from a company president.
In the letter, the president said that he was willing to give away 30% of the company’s shares for free. Mike and hired him as legal counsel for life.
Shocked, Mike decided to visit the president in person.
He is a middle-aged Polish man in his forties.
"Do you still know me?"
The president asked with a smile, and Mike shook his head.
The president took out a wrinkled 5 yuan money order and a business card from Mike and said:
"When I came to the United States twenty years ago, I planned to use the only money I had on me to I paid $5 to apply for a work pass, but I didn’t know that it had increased to $10. If I didn’t apply for a work pass that day, someone else would take my place in the company. At this time, you handed me $5. I kept your business card. Later, when my career became prosperous, I wanted to return this help to you at a meaningful time."
This story sounds very lucky, but it is actually Mike's own. It is very reasonable that good causes produce good results.
There is a saying in Buddhism:
"When causes and conditions meet, you will receive the results yourself."
The heart is a field, whatever causes we plant will be What will be the harvest?
If you always have a kind heart and do good deeds, you will eventually accumulate blessings; if you have evil thoughts and do bad things, you will eventually suffer the consequences.
Everything has a cause and effect, and if there are multiple good causes, there will naturally be more good results.
