About the issue of customs clearance for domestic vehicles traveling to Laos and Thailand

About the issue of vehicles traveling out of the country to Laos.

As long as the vehicle has completed all domestic procedures (road maintenance fees, insurance premiums, annual inspections, etc.), the driver can go to Laos with his passport and visa. The required fees are as follows:

At China Customs

Quarantine: 24

Customs: 75

Transportation: 4

After entering Laos

A bunch of fees: 12+11015=137

Immigration Bureau: 400

Insurance fee: 100 (valid within one year )

Customs: 150

Transportation Permit: 100

Public Security: 50

The above are all after accounting for RMB.

When entering Thailand from Laos, the procedures are simpler. Just take all the paperwork and pay for the car and that's it.

Vehicle entry insurance: 1,000 baht (about RMB 250, valid within one year)

There are also some fees, not too much, I can’t remember clearly.

Vehicle ferry: Since the ferry was already off duty when we arrived, it was specially opened for us. The boss of the ferry was very generous, and the fee was 100 US dollars.

When we returned to Laos from Thailand, there was a disinfection fee for the vehicle. At that time, we only had US dollars and Malaysian dollars. Their practice is that if they give us US dollars, they will not give change (it seems to be 3000kip Laos currency), and they will not accept RMB. , and finally gave 20 Malaysian dollars. There are also some other expenses, which are about more than 60,000 Lao dollars. The exchange rate between RMB and Malaysian currency is 1:2. The exchange rate between RMB and Laos kip is 1:1300

There seems to be no charge for vehicles entering China from Laos. I can’t remember clearly here. Because I was dizzy.

Special note: Laos Customs is very unruly (called Bu Zhengyi in Mandarin, and Special SB in harsher words). When entering Laos, you must carefully check whether the entry stamp is stamped. Otherwise, you will be severely slapped by Laos Customs when you leave the country! ! !

When we left Laos and entered China, because we didn’t have an entry stamp, we were extorted a fine of US$400 per person, and that didn’t include the car! ! ! In the end, I negotiated the price with Y to RMB 600. After being fined, I still had no invoice.
