Which country is Venezuela?

Venezuela itself is a country, located in the north of South America, bordering the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean in the north, Guyana in the east, Brazil in the south and Colombia in the west. Off the coast of Venezuela, there are island countries such as Aruba, Netherlands Antilles (all overseas autonomous territories of the Netherlands) and Trinidad and Tobago.

Venezuela covers an area of 9 1.64 million square kilometers and is rich in natural resources. The main mineral resources are oil, natural gas, iron ore, bauxite, gold, coal, nickel and diamonds.

Topography of Venezuela

Venezuela's national topography can be divided into three regions: northwest and north mountains, mainly Merida mountains, the northeast branch of the Andes, which is the largest mountain range in the country, with snow all year round and frequent glaciers and earthquakes. Bolivar Peak is 5007 meters above sea level, which is the highest point in China.

In the northwest of Merida Mountains, there is Lake Maracaibo, the largest lake in Latin America, with an area of 14344 square kilometers, bordering the Caribbean Sea in the north and the deepest point in the south reaching 250 meters. The water is light in the south and slightly salty in the north. The swamp lowlands around the lake area are world-famous oil-producing areas.

The central part of Orinoco River Plain, the western part of the plain is grassland, and the eastern part of the plain is delta swamp formed by Orinoco River Estuary.

Guyana Plateau is located in the southeast, with an altitude of 500-800 meters. Angel Waterfall (979 meters), the largest waterfall in the world, is located on the tributary of the middle reaches of Karoni River.
