Urban legend says that there are three ghost buildings in Chaoshan, Guangdong, with "206 There is a Female Ghost" engraved on the walls.

No. 11, Yongping Road, No. 206, Shantou Building, is the Shantou Building named after the city. It was built in 1933 and has been 85 years old. It is 8 floors tall and was once the most upscale building in Shantou during the Republic of China. One of the restaurants, called Yongping Restaurant, was changed to "Shantou Building" after liberation.

It is said that in the backward old China era, Yongping Restaurant already had elevators, ceiling lamps, mulberry branches tables and chairs and other high-end equipment. It can be said to be a microcosm of Shantou's "Little Shanghai" back then.

Nowadays, the Shantou Building has been abandoned, and the prosperity of the past has long disappeared. However, if you enter the Shantou Building, you will find that someone has carved a row of large characters on the wall on the second floor, and it is written - "There is a female ghost in 206" .

This was the engraving seal that was popular among students in Shantou in the late 1980s. It was carved by children who had good deeds. However, the urban legend of 206 female ghosts can be traced back to around 1947.

At that time, the Anti-Japanese War ended and the Liberation War began. As one of the most high-end entertainment venues in Shantou, Yongping Restaurant naturally had singing girls to accompany the drinks. The second floor of the restaurant is a box area, and the boxes are separated from each other. The accident occurred in box 206.

It is said that there was a dispute in the box at that time, and a singer from Puning was killed by slitting her throat. Blood poured out on the spot and seeped into the floor, which could not be washed away. At that time, only the upper class of society could enter Yongping Restaurant for consumption. Due to the dark social environment, the murderer has been at large since then and has been unable to be brought to justice.

Shantou ushered in liberation in 1949. A relative of the murdered singer came to the city to serve as a cadre and re-investigated the murder case. The restaurant was thoroughly investigated, some were interrogated, and some were arrested. The city was full of uproar, but nothing was found. When the results came out, the legend began to take shape at that time.

From then on, people began to encounter strange singers entering and leaving 206 on the second floor. At first everyone thought it was just a joke, but more and more people began to witness it. Until the 1960s, there were also Shantou Building employees I met a singer in 206, but there were no other singers at that time.

The situation intensified. In the 1980s, a demolition team finally entered the building and demolished the second floor. All the partitions were dismantled and all the floors were pried away. The legendary blood-stained floor was finally gone. . The Shantou Building became an empty shell, and the showgirl's box 206 also disappeared. Many people thought that the matter was over.

In October 2016, after a netizen entered the Shantou Building to explore, he took a picture of the words "206 There is a Female Ghost" and uploaded it to Moments, but later found that the Moments could not be opened. However, other circles of friends on the same day were safe and sound. This little episode reignited this long-standing story.

Jinggang Restaurant is located at the junction of Yongping Road and Shengping Road. To this day, the restaurant’s sign is still hanging there, but as early as the late 1980s, it was just a building in a residential community.

One night in the 1980s, a fire broke out in the small building. Although some people managed to escape while the fire was still small, others died in the flames.

At that time, there was a family of four living on the third floor, a husband and wife and two children. The family was harmonious and lived a happy life. But they failed to escape that night and all died. Originally, people thought this was just an ordinary accident, but subsequent investigation revealed that the door of the resident on the third floor was locked from the outside, making it impossible for the family to escape.

But why is the door locked? Who locked it again? What does this have to do with the fire? No one can tell this clearly.

Later, the residents of the small building gradually moved out, and a proprietor contracted the two lower floors. After repairs, they began to operate a restaurant, which later became the Beijing-Hong Kong Restaurant. Business was good at the beginning of the restaurant's opening, but incidents began to occur frequently after that. For example, the restaurant owner, who had always been in good health, suffered a stroke, and the chef who was cutting vegetables in the kitchen suddenly suffered from hand cramps.

Sometimes after night falls, neighbors across the door look across and see that the third floor above the Jinggang Restaurant, where the original incident occurred, is brightly lit in the dark and bustling with people inside, as if it were a stage for opera. It was extremely lively. But in fact, there are only vigil workers at the Jinggang Restaurant at night.

And the employees who kept vigil were complaining. After closing, they still saw people walking up and down in the restaurant, but when they looked carefully, they found nothing.

Amid many rumors, the Beijing-Hong Kong Restaurant was eventually closed due to poor management. It was also rented out as a warehouse, but each time it was rented out and then changed hands for some reason. It has already dealt with many tenants.

Nowadays, Jinggang Restaurant still stands in its original location. The brand has remained unchanged despite the wind and rain, and the urban legend about it is still gradually spreading.

The Handi Road Building is in the Handi Road area today. Turn from the "Niutian Yang Rice Wine" and walk forward for a while. You will find a building that has become an unfinished building.

As early as the 1990s, this place was a commercial and residential building jointly established by a boss and relevant departments. As a result, at the end of the 1990s, Shantou, which had gone through various changes, began to collapse economically. Under this situation, the building could not be sold even after it was built. In addition, everyone was financially stressed, and the boss’s capital chain was quickly broken. Of course, the loan sharks could not repay the loans. It is said that many parties were pressuring him at that time. The debt was repaid, but the building could not be sold, and no one was lending money for relief. He was unable to repay the debt at all.

Later, when he was cornered, he ran to the roof and jumped off. His child was still in elementary school at the time, but he still chose to die because he couldn't find a way to survive. .

Since then, incidents have occurred frequently in the building and it has gradually become a restricted area.

In the beginning, a mental patient ran into the building because no one was watching him, and then fell into a pit for no apparent reason. It was full of iron bars left behind during work, and the sharp iron bars were thorns. It penetrated the body of the intruder, and the scene was bloody.

There were also children who ventured in out of curiosity and were pushed from a high place. They fell and almost died. However, no one else was found in the abandoned building at that time.

Regardless of whether there were supernatural events or not, the abandoned building was still too dangerous, so the people around it surrounded the building and prohibited the explorers from moving forward.

After that, people around began to witness people spinning in circles on the rooftop of the top floor, looking down from time to time. Everyone thought that another bad guy had climbed in, and didn't think much about it. Later, the night watchman suddenly went on strike because at night I keep hearing people talking to themselves in the building, but no one can be found, only the sound echoes in the empty building. Moving forward to around 2015, someone invested in the purchase of that building and renovated it. However, the people who took over the management of the building were in poor health. Everyone felt that it was still too weird, so the house was closed again. Up and never rented it out again.
