Is it prudent to immigrate to Finland?

Before the Spring Festival, many people will go to hair salons or dye their hair at home to welcome the Spring Festival with new hair colors. However, it is often reported in the news that so-and-so has caused serious allergic swelling, cancer and even death due to hair dyeing, which makes people worry that hair dyeing will be harmful to health.

Does dyeing your hair really hurt you? How to balance beauty and safety when dyeing hair?

The main functional component of hair dye products is hair dye. Hair dyes can be divided into metal hair dyes and oxidized hair dyes according to their components. Metal hair dyes mostly use heavy metals such as lead acetate as raw materials. Because of its cumulative toxicity, it is rarely used now. At present, most hair dyeing products on the market use oxidized hair dyes, and the main components are p-phenylenediamine and phenylenediamine substances, ammonia water, coupling agent, hydrogen peroxide, sodium perborate and so on.

The possible health hazards caused by unsafe hair dyeing;

1, contact dermatitis

P-phenylenediamine is an important dyeing raw material in oxidized hair dye. P-phenylenediamine has the characteristics of firm and lasting dyeing. Generally, the darker the color of hair dye, the higher the content of p-phenylenediamine. P-phenylenediamine is also a strong allergen, and contact with skin may cause skin allergy. The most common is contact dermatitis, which causes scalp redness, papules, blisters and so on. In severe cases, it will spread to the ears, face, neck and even the whole body.

2, hair loss

Allergic reactions to phenylenediamine and other chemicals can also easily lead to inflammation of scalp and hair follicles, which will lead to hair follicle atrophy, hair thinning and increase the risk of hair loss in the long run. In addition, hydrogen peroxide, a commonly used oxidant in hair dyes, can easily lead to hair loss, because the peroxidation caused by hydrogen peroxide will destroy melanocytes in scalp hair follicles, accelerate the generation of white hair and shorten the hair growth cycle.

3. Increase the risk of cancer

P-phenylenediamine has been listed as a class 3 carcinogen by IARC, an international cancer research institution under the World Health Organization. At present, more and more studies show that unsafe hair dyeing may increase the risk of various cancers.

In October, 200211year1,a well-known medical journal Cancer published a prospective study on the relationship between hair dye use and prostate cancer. Studies have found that the use of oxidized permanent hair dyes may increase the risk of prostate cancer in men.

In the ATBC study in Finland, the researchers analyzed the data of 28,795 smoking men aged 50-69 and followed them up for an average of 28 years. During the follow-up period, 2703 people were diagnosed with prostate cancer.

After excluding many influencing factors such as age, lifestyle and family history of prostate cancer, the researchers found that compared with men who did not use oxidized permanent hair dye, the risk of prostate cancer in men who used oxidized permanent hair dye may increase by 77%, including the risk of early prostate cancer may increase by 179% and the risk of late prostate cancer may increase by 66%. Moreover, men who smoke younger and have higher body mass index may have a higher risk of prostate cancer after using oxidized permanent hair dye.

Researchers believe that benzidine, 4-aminobiphenyl and 2- naphthylamine contained in oxidized permanent hair dyes may increase the risk of prostate cancer.

From September 2065438 to September 2009, a study published in the International Journal of Cancer showed that women who use permanent hair dyes and chemical straightening agents may have a higher risk of breast cancer than women who do not use these products, and the risk of breast cancer will increase with the more frequent use of these chemical hair dyeing products.

Researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) analyzed data from 46,709 women in sister studies. These women are between 35 and 74 years old and have no breast cancer, but one sister has breast cancer. During an average follow-up period of 8.3 years, 2794 women were diagnosed with breast cancer.

After excluding other factors, the results showed that compared with women who did not use hair dye, women who used permanent hair dye within 1 year had a 9% higher risk of breast cancer. However, there is no significant relationship between the use of temporary and semi-permanent hair dyes and the risk of breast cancer.

It should be noted that the two studies mentioned above are observational studies, which only show that the use of permanent hair dyes or straightening agents is related to the increased risk of certain types of cancer, and does not mean that there is a causal relationship between them. Moreover, the premise of these risks is mostly unsafe hair dyeing or the use of inferior hair dyes. The risk of cancer does not mean that it will definitely cause cancer. As long as you take protective measures and pay attention to safe hair dyeing, you don't have to worry about carcinogenic hazards.

If you want to dye your hair safely and minimize the harm of hair dye, you can pay attention to the following three points:

1, dye your hair no more than twice a year.

Do not dye your hair more than twice a year. Hair dyeing products should be purchased through formal and legal channels, and the product labels should be clear. If you just want to cover your white hair with hair dye, dye the new white hair at the root, not all of it.

2. Do a skin test 5 minutes in advance.

No matter what kind of hair dye you choose, you should have a skin test before using it. Before dyeing your hair, you can apply a small amount of hair dye to the skin behind your ears. If your skin becomes red, swollen and itchy after 5 minutes, you are allergic to this hair dye and can't use it any more!

3, completes the protective measures

Gloves, earmuffs and masks should be worn during hair dyeing to protect exposed skin and reduce potential adverse reactions. In addition, try not to dye eyebrows with hair dye, because hair dye is easy to enter the eyes, stimulate the eye mucosa and cause eye damage.

In addition, we remind six groups of people to be cautious about dyeing their hair: diabetes, hypertension, people with hair dye allergy, people with scalp injury, people with old and weak health, people with liver and kidney dysfunction, pregnant women and lactating women, and people with family history of cancer.

In fact, the best way to avoid the harm of hair dye is not to dye hair as much as possible. However, the love of beauty is human nature. If you really need to dye your hair, it is suggested that you must carefully choose hair dyeing products and products produced by compliant manufacturers. It is suggested to choose light color to reduce the exposure of p-phenylenediamine; Skin test must be done before dyeing hair, and protective measures should be taken when dyeing hair. Drinking more water after dyeing hair can reduce the harm of hair dye to the body, and at the same time pay close attention to whether there are abnormal symptoms on the scalp. # Protecting the World in the Silver Age # # Ballad Zero Zero Plan #
