The Historical Evolution of Perak State
The modern history of Perak began to develop after the demise of Malacca Dynasty. Raja muzaffar shah, the eldest son of the last Sultan Sultan Mahmud Shah in Malacca, fled the kingdom when the Portuguese attacked Malacca. 1528, Raja muzaffar shah established a new dynasty on the Perak River. Perak is rich in tin mines, which makes the Perak dynasty attract the attention of European colonial countries.
During the Dutch colonial period, the Dutch failed to monopolize the tin mining industry in the17th century, and at the same time built forts at the mouth of the Perak River and Bunker Island. The history of Dutch early landing in Perak began at 164 1. At that time, the Netherlands successfully controlled the Straits of Malacca and monopolized the tin mine and spice industry. The Dutch tried to persuade Raja muzaffar shah to monopolize the tin mining industry in Perak, but failed. Through Sultanah Tajul Alam Safiatuddin in Aceh, the Netherlands finally succeeded in forcing the Sultan of Perak to sign the treaty. On August 1650, the Netherlands was allowed to build a factory in Gua Dalam, but at the same time it caused dissatisfaction among the royal family in Perak.
165 1 year, Tian led the masses to destroy the factory and urged the Dutch to leave Perak. 1655, the Netherlands sent envoys to Perak to re-sign the treaty and seek compensation for the destruction of the factory. The Perak dynasty was surrounded by Dutch troops because it did not abide by the treaty. The people of Perak joined forces with Aceh and Ulongsaran to attack the Dutch army. 1670, the Dutch returned to Perak and built Kota Kakuyu on Bunker Island, which is now Kota Belanda. I heard that the Siam dynasty was going to attack itself, and the Perak dynasty allowed this construction project. Nevertheless, lightning drove the Dutch away from Bunker Island at 1685. The Dutch tried to renegotiate the treaty, but failed.
During the British colonial period, that is, in the18th century, Buji, Aceh and Siam all tried to attack the Perak dynasty. 1820 British intervention prevented the Siam dynasty from annexing the Perak dynasty to its own territory. Britain had no intention of colonizing Malaya, but the increase in investment in tin mines brought a large number of China coolies immigrants, mainly from their own places of origin, and established different private parties to unite local Malay leaders and private parties to compete for territory and tin mines by violent means. Because of the long-term succession problem, the Perak dynasty was unable to maintain local public security.
Isabella Lucy Bird tells how Raja Abdullah, a Sultan Abdullah Tarmugl who has not yet succeeded to the throne, turned to Chen Jinzhong, the eldest son of her Singaporean friend Chen Dusheng for help. Chen Jinzhong and a Singaporean British businessman wrote a letter signed by Sultan Abdullah Tarmugl to Sir Andrew Clarke, expressing Abdullah Tarmugl's hope to place the Kingdom of Perak under British protection so that "capable people can show him a good administrative system". 1874, Sir Andrew Clarke, as the governor of the Straits Colony, held a meeting in Bunker Island. Sultan Abdullah Tarmugl succeeded to the throne at the meeting. The Bangluo Treaty also enabled Sultan Abdullah Tarmugl to hand over all important political affairs except religious and cultural affairs to a British resident. 1875, several local chiefs assassinated the first consul, James W. W. Burch, which triggered a brief lightning war in 1876. Sultan Abdullah Tarmugl was exiled to Seychelles. Sir Hugh Low, the new consul, is familiar with Malay cultural traditions and a talented administrator. He also introduced rubber trees to Malaya.
1896, the states of federated malay states were established by Pali, Shirley, Mori Meilan and Pahang, but the British consular system remained in use until 1948, when the United States of Malaya was established.
1August 3, 9571day, Perak and other Malayan states 10 fought for independence from the British government. British Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore joined the Malayan Federation on September 1963 to establish Malaysia. Singapore became independent from Malaysia.
