Maine Coon is a huge cat with long and vigorous hair. Maine cats are famous for their lovely nature, docile and intelligent, especially getting along well with children and dogs.

Maine coon originated in 17 and 18 centuries. Many domestic cats migrated from Europe to New England in the United States with their owners. They all face a very cold winter there, and only the strongest and most adaptable cats can survive.

Under the constant natural selection year after year (just the opposite of breed improvement), Maine Coon has evolved a huge and strong body shape and waterproof and fluffy hair like a blanket.
