Yes, for overseas individuals to purchase houses in China, please refer to the Notice of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on Further Regulating the Management of Purchasing Houses by Overseas Institutions and Individuals (Jian Zong [20 10] 186). An overseas individual can only buy a set of self-occupied houses in China.

1. When foreigners (institutions) purchase houses (such as commercial houses and stock houses) and apply for house registration, the applicants shall use Chinese names (names); If the original is in a foreign language, a Chinese translation (notarized) shall be provided;

2. The Chinese name (name) in the certification document shall be consistent with the Chinese name (name) of the registration certificate of the National Security Bureau.

3. Notarization documents issued by local notarization institutions provided by overseas Chinese, Chinese and foreigners living in countries with diplomatic relations with China must be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country or its authorized institutions and the embassy (consulate) of China in that country.
