Bailong River Water Diversion Project is a major strategic project in Gansu Province. The project plans to draw water from the upper reaches of Bailong River, a tributary of Jialing River in Gansu Province, and supply water to 2 counties (districts) of Tianshui, Pingliang and Qingyang in the southeast of Gansu Province and 4 counties (districts) of Yan 'an City in Shaanxi Province.

The water source project is Daigu Temple Reservoir, with a normal storage level of 184.m, a total storage capacity of 48 million m_, and a storage capacity of 313 million m_. The dam type is a concrete face rockfill dam with a maximum dam height of 151m m.. The design flow of the head of the main trunk canal is 34.6m_/s, with a total length of 489.5km, all of which are located in Gansu. There are 9 water outlets along the trunk line, namely Wushan, Sol Zhang, Zhuanglang, Huating, Kongtong, Zhenyuan, Qingyang, Qingcheng and Yan 'an, followed by 9 outlets, namely Tianshui, Zhangqing, Huachongling, Kongjing, Zhenyuan, Qingyang, Qinghuan, Huachi and Yan 'an. There are 23 reservoirs for equipment at the end of trunk line, with a total regulating capacity of 5.15 million m_, of which 18 are newly built, and 5 have been built and planned.
