The Tao River that runs through the urban area of ??Yangquan was said to have been called the "Puzhu River" in ancient times, and the river water fluctuated unpredictably. When the river dries up, the river bed looks like a vast desert river; when it floods, the huge rocks in the river roll like thousands of horses galloping, extremely fast and violent. On a scorching sunny day, the head of the river suddenly rushes down. Not to mention pedestrians who pass by, even wild boars in the mountains that are as powerful as cattle and run like rabbits will be knocked down and immediately swept into the river. Therefore, the local people call it "Pig Pig River". In order to control the river water, the people decided to cut rocks and move mountains to build river dams. People worked hard all winter and spring and finally built the river dam, but when the river came the next year, the dam was washed away. People moved rocks to block the river again. In this way, year after year, descendants continued to block the river, and finally built a Qifeng Dam to block the flood. The news spread to heaven and Prince Yu was moved. One day, Prince Yu came here for sightseeing. It rained heavily in Vietnam and there was a huge flood. At this time, hundreds of strong men, regardless of the danger, ran towards the river dam with stones in their arms to reinforce the dam foundation. However, the rain continued unabated, the river water rose rapidly, and the Qifeng Dam was on the verge of collapse. Prince Yu quickly stretched out five fingers and pointed a little toward the river. Five stone peaks immediately appeared in the river, forming five graceful bends in the river, which reduced the impact of the river water and saved the dam. The next day, when the wind calmed down and the rain stopped, the wonder of "five blocks" appeared in the river. Later, people called the village built here Wedu Town. Because a ferry was set up on the river, Wedu Town was also called "Wudukou". This may be the origin of the name of Wudu Village. Since then, both sides of the river have prospered, and villages have been built everywhere. Downstream of Wudao, because there is no fixed river channel and the river flows turbulently, the villages formed are called "turbulent villages"; and the villages built on the river banks are called "Hepo" villages; because of the large areas of gravel deposited by Wudao, they are called "River Villages". "Shajiang Mouth", the place where the water is silted up is called "Pingtan"; the place where the river water becomes clear and there are swarms of fish and shrimp is called "Saiyu Town". During the peach blossom season, peach blossoms always floated on the Puzhu River, so people changed Puzhu River to Tao River, and later it was called Tao River.
