Miao people are distributed in several countries.

Miao people believe in primitive religions with animism. Miao people in Southeast Asia are also indigenous peoples in Vietnam and Laos. In northern Thailand, there are also Miao people living together. According to the population statistics in 2004, the local Miao population is about 654.38+0.2 million, which is the local mountain nationality second only to the Galiang nationality. They migrated from southwest China to northern Thailand from18th century to19th century. At present, older Miao people still speak Yunnan dialect. There are Miao people who migrated from China in northern Myanmar.
