If your spouse is an American citizen, you can apply for a CR 1 immigrant visa after marriage. If you have been married for 2 years at the time of application, it is called IR 1. After obtaining the CR 1 visa, you can get a conditional green card when you enter the country (you can get a permanent green card if you have been married for 2 years when you enter the country). A conditional green card needs to apply for cancellation of the conditional green card within 90 days before the second anniversary of its expiration in order to obtain a permanent green card.

I. Preparation of documents

5. Both parties shall fill in Form G-325A respectively.

2. Application address: service centers in various regions of the Immigration Bureau (the applicant chooses the center to submit the application according to the place of residence).

Payment method: Never send cash or traveler's checks. The service center accepts money orders, personal checks and cash checks as payment methods. The service center cannot deposit cash and traveler's checks. Please make sure that the signature and date on the check are correct. As long as the date is not later than 5 days from the date of receipt of the check (if the date of receipt of the check is 20 days, the date on the check can be 25 days instead of 26 days), the expired check meets the requirements.

Put the check at the top of the application materials and clip it firmly in the upper left corner. If more than one application is submitted, please attach a check to each application.
