Ecological Environment of Baihebao Reservoir

Problems in the development and utilization of water resources: with the development of economy and society, the contradiction between supply and demand of water resources is becoming increasingly prominent; Backward water resources management and serious waste of water resources; Water pollution is getting more and more serious, and the ecological environment is getting worse.

In order to create a harmonious and livable ecological Yanqing and better protect the water quality in the upper reaches of the reservoir, Yanqing Water Affairs Bureau decided to implement water source protection and greening projects in the upper reaches of the reservoir, such as intercepting grass, ecological water conservation, wetland construction, natural restoration and other projects to improve the ecological environment of Baihe and its surrounding areas.

The comprehensive construction project of ecological environment in Baihe and its surrounding areas was officially started from September 1 day, 2006 to October 5, 2007. The projects of planting soil and water conservation and afforestation, slope toe enclosure and road greening in the reservoir area were completed, vegetation in the water source area was restored, and the water quality and surrounding environment of the reservoir were improved. Complete the planting of aquatic plants on both sides of Baihe River and Heihe River to form wetlands, realize the goal of intercepting grass, wetland restoration and ecological pollution, improve the water quality entering Miyun Reservoir and improve the river water environment. Complete the planting of soil and water conservation forests in the central plains mountainous areas on both sides of Baihe, Heihe and Hongqidian rivers, and improve the surrounding environment of water sources.
