Will being detained by the police leave files that will affect going abroad?

Public security detention is a non-criminal punishment. No criminal record, personal files will not be recorded. Don't worry, it won't affect visas or immigration.

Administrative detention does not affect the issuance of a certificate of no criminal record. Administrative detention is an administrative punishment, not a criminal punishment for criminal acts, so it will not affect.

Relevant provisions: Article 5 of the Provisions on the Work of Proof of Criminal Record. The matters mentioned in these Provisions do not include the following circumstances:

(1) management

1. Public security mediation agreement, no penalty decision;

2. Warnings, confiscation of illegal income, confiscation of illegal property, temporary suspension or revocation of licenses, and traffic fines (those who apply for school bus driving qualifications shall be handled in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations on School Bus Safety Management);

3. Administrative measures such as summoning (compulsory summoning), continuing questioning and detention review;

4 administrative punishment decisions made by other administrative organs.
