Which plots in Water Margin took place in Jixian County, Tianjin City?
Xiaomanhe Village, Yangjinzhuang Town, is located on the west bank of the Liao Canal. It was established as a village in the Liao Dynasty. The origin of the village's name is said to be because the low-lying terrain often overflowed with water in the old days. Another theory is that the water from the Liao Canal flows into the village. Later, the water slowed down and it was named because it was different from the villages in Damanhe River. Because the streets in the village are criss-crossed, of varying lengths, difficult to distinguish between upright and slanted, and easy to enter and difficult to exit, it is quite similar to the legendary Bagua array, so it is known as the "Bagua Village".
Xiaomanhe Village was originally a circular village with a radius of 500 meters. There were "Nine Bridges, Seven Temples, Xuandi Pavilion and Bagua Street" in the village, all arranged in Bagua formation. Nine Bridges, Xiaomanhe Village is surrounded by a village-protecting river, and a river passes through the village. Since ancient times, there has been a saying that "you must cross the bridge when entering the village." Centered on the big stone bridge in the center of the village, there are eight stone bridges scattered in the east, south, west, north, southeast, northeast, southwest and northwest, collectively called the Nine Bridges; the seven temples are Laoye Temple, Dawu Temple, etc. Taoist Temple, Big Bodhisattva Temple, Small Wudao Temple, Small Bodhisattva Temple, Wenchang Temple, Horse Temple; Xuandi Pavilion, located in the center of the village, is divided into upper and lower floors, about 8 meters high. Today, Xiaomanhe Village Village Committee The gray brick building on the east side is the ruins of Xuandi Pavilion. A statue of Emperor Xuanwu was enshrined in the original pavilion. Xuanwu, together with Qinglong, White Tiger and Suzaku, is known as the four gods of Taoism. He was born in the Huangdi period and was later renamed Zhenwu, also known as Pure Belly Buddha. On the second floor of the pavilion, there are murals depicting the story of Emperor Xuanwu's cultivation and becoming an immortal. The paintings are vivid and lifelike, with smooth lines and delicate brushwork. Unfortunately, they have been destroyed; Bagua Street refers to the nine streets in the village arranged in Bagua formations, crisscrossing and turning. There are many, and most of them are at 90-degree right angles. In addition, the paths are narrow, and only one person can walk at the narrowest point. Both sides of the street are blocked by houses and walls, making it difficult to determine the direction. Pedestrians entering it feel like they are in a maze and can easily lose their way.
When outsiders enter the village, it will be difficult to get out without the help of villagers. During the Anti-Japanese War, the Japanese and puppet troops frequently entered the villages to "clear the countryside", but each time the "cleaning" was not clean, and some families were always left behind. According to the introduction of the elderly, one time the Japanese came to the village to "clear the countryside" and found that there were more than a dozen households on the south street of the village. When they came closer, they saw nothing, so they had to leave in frustration. In fact, those dozen households were just A few meters away on the west side of the street, the enemy was completely unaware. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the streets in the village still maintained their original appearance, but it was very inconvenient for people from other villages to go here to do business and do small business. When they left the village, they often wandered around the village, and finally returned to the same place. Most Xiaomanhe villagers who were born and raised in Xiaomanhe over the age of 70 have had the experience of leading outsiders out of the village. After the reform and opening up, the village committee renovated the streets, most of the curves were straightened, and road traffic improved significantly. However, it still happens that outsiders get lost when entering the village.
According to research, Xiaomanhe Village is the prototype of Zhujiazhuang in "Water Margin". In the 46th chapter of "Water Margin", after Yang Xiong killed his wife in Cuiping Mountain, he went down the mountain with Shi Xiu and others to the south, and arrived at Zhujiazhuang in Yunzhou in less than a day, so later generations believe that Zhujiazhuang is in In Shandong, this is not the case. Yunzhou in the Song Dynasty was equivalent to Dongping in Shandong Province today. The straight-line distance from Cuiping Mountain in Jizhou to Dongping was more than 900 miles. How could Yang Xiong and others walk for a day along the path to get there? Obviously Zhujiazhuang is not in Shandong. Historical records record that Shi Naian once visited Jizhou, and many places in his "Water Margin" use Jizhou as the background of the story. Zhujiazhuang in the book was probably written by Shi Naian using Xiaomanhe in Jizhou as the prototype of the story.
Looking from the surrounding environment, two miles to the southeast of Xiaomanhe Village is Dahujiazhuang, and three miles to the west is Lizhuangzi (now known as Lizhaozhuang). The old people in the village said that the one-foot-high Husanniang is the inner village of Hujiazhuang. The head of the family, Pu Tiandiao Li Ying is the owner of Li Zhuangzi, and Zhu Chaofeng is the owner of Xiaomanhe Village. The big stone bridge in the current village was specially moved from the east end of Zhuangtou to the center of the village by Zhu Chaofeng to build Bagua Village. Xuandi Pavilion, 500 meters west of Dashiqiao, was the headquarters where Zhu Chaofeng commanded Zhuang soldiers to fight against Liangshan heroes. Undoubtedly, Xiaomanhe Village should be the prototype of Zhujiazhuang in "Water Margin".
According to the villagers of Xiaomanhe Village, there is a cross street in the northwest of the village. It is said that the cross slope where Wu Song met Zhang Qing is here. The Cross Street is composed of an east-west street and a north-south loess hill, arranged in a "ten" shape. It is the highest point on the Xiaoman River and is commonly known as the "Cross Slope". There is a large locust tree 600 meters in front of the slope, hugged by four or five people. Its branches and leaves can cover the entire street on the north side of Xiaoman River. It is also called the "big tree cross slope". Elderly people over 70 years old in the village said that this was the "Cross Slope" where Sun Erniang opened her shop. The story they described was more detailed and realistic than that recorded in "Water Margin". Coincidentally, 20 years ago, villagers who were constructing at Huangtugang near Cross Slope unearthed the remains of ancient earthen pots and stoves. The villagers suspected that they were items from Sun Erniang's shop.
