Can I take Chinese medicine to Canada?

Chinese herbal medicines can be brought into Canada, but they need to be declared to the customs and ensure that such products meet the inspection standards of the Canadian Food Inspection Bureau.

Canada restricts the import of the following plant products: forest products, wooden packaging materials and liners, cereals and field crops, horticultural commodities, insects, plants with novel characteristics, potatoes and seeds. The import of the following animal products is restricted: animal pathogens, animal products and by-products, live animals, semen, embryos, pets, veterinary biological agents, etc.

Special note: When China citizens bring agricultural and fishery products, food, animals and plants into Canada, they need to declare to the customs and ensure that these products meet the inspection standards of Canadian food inspection agencies.

Precautions for entering Canada:

You don't need to fill in the entry form when you enter Canada, but you must fill in the customs declaration card. When going through the immigration formalities, the immigration officer will ask some simple questions, such as the flight, the purpose of coming to Canada and the contact person in Canada. The immigration officer will stamp the entry stamp on the passport and inform the duration of stay.

Short-term visitors to Canada are not allowed to work or study in Canada. If you need to change your temporary visitor status or extend your stay, you must apply to the immigration office 30 days before your status or visa expires.

If you are studying abroad or immigrating to Canada, it is recommended to bring relevant documents, such as birth certificate, certificate of no criminal record, marriage certificate, graduation certificate, report card, degree certificate, driver's license and verification, for future use in Canada.
