Can I work with an Australian student visa?

Of course it is possible, and this is not what the person above said. It has only been allowed since 2008.

The regulations of the Australian Immigration Bureau are that you can legally work no more than 20 hours a week, and there is no time limit on holidays. Therefore, many students can earn their living expenses by working part-time.

Also, the majors that our Chinese students apply for when they go abroad for the first time must be Full Time. We cannot apply for Part-time majors. But if you want to continue your studies later, that is, after completing this course, or if you still want to study after immigrating, you can apply for a part-time course.
