Songtai Village is located in the south of Gutian County, just across the road from the county seat. Belonging to the urban-rural fringe, it is the second largest administrative village in Chengxi Sub-district Office of Gutian County. On the east side of the village are tree-lined Tashan Park and Martyrs Cemetery. Auspicious Tower was moved here in 1958 when Gutianxi Hydropower Station immigrated. 196 1 was announced by Fujian Provincial Committee as the first batch of provincial-level cultural relics protection units. There are many fitness equipment on the north side of the village, which is really a good place for leisure and fitness. Every night, there are singing and dancing. Songtai Village, a famous historical and cultural village under the jurisdiction of Gutian County, was originally named Songtai Village, the capital of Gutian County, Fujian Province. From the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1520- 1567), Li, the ancestor of Songtai Village, and Zheng Po, the original partner, settled and multiplied in Songtai Kaiji for about 430 years.

Songtai Village is one of the early party member in our province and the birthplace of Chen, one of the founders of Gutian County Committee. Chen was born in 1905. He is responsible for organizing the Fuzhou Wharf Trade Union and leading the Fuzhou Workers' Movement. He organized and established the Gutian Special Branch, which aroused the awakening of Gutian people and made contributions to the revolutionary cause in China.

Before liberation, most villagers in Songtai village lived on agriculture. They work hard with their backs to the loess all day, and children can't afford to read. The whole village is poor and backward. After liberation, the people turned over and their lives improved greatly. Especially since the reform and opening up, the economy has been developing continuously. Many brick-concrete houses have been built in the village. In recent years, more than 20 students enter universities and middle schools every year, many of them.
