Qujing, alias Wei or Cuan, is located in the east of Yunnan Province, bordering Xingyi City of Guizhou Province in the east, Honghe Prefecture of Wenshan Prefecture in the south, Kunming City in the west and Zhaotong City in the north. It is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, covering an area of 28,900 square kilometers. The city has three districts, 1 city, 5 counties and 1 national economic and technological development zones.

Geographical environment:
Qujing City is located in Wumeng Mountain, the transition zone from the eastern Yunnan Plateau to the western Guizhou Plateau in the middle of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The west is closely embedded with the lake basin in the central Yunnan Plateau, and the east gradually transits to the Guizhou Plateau. The middle part is the watershed between the Yangtze River and the Pearl River. The surface of the plateau is well preserved and its shape is complete. The southeast is a typical karst hilly landform. The city boundary belongs to the eastern Yunnan fold belt of the Yangtze platform, with high terrain in the northwest and low terrain in the southeast.
The highest point of Qujing is in Guniuzhai, Daliangzi, Huize County, with an altitude of 40 17.3 meters, which is the main peak of Wumeng Mountain, and the lowest point is at the confluence of Xiaojiang, Xiangbiling, Wangjiashan, Nagu Town, Huize County, with an altitude of 695 meters and a relative height difference of 3322.3 meters. The altitude of the municipal government is 18 1 m, and the urban landscape is dominated by plateaus and mountains.
